    Quality Food

    My oldest Great Dane is about to be 8. He’s struggled with allergies his whole life- has been on several medications and I don’t know how many foods we’ve gone through. He had been doing alright on another food, but then the study regarding potatoes, peas, lentils came out associating those ingredients My oldest Great Dane is about to be 8. He’s struggled with allergies his whole life- has been on several medications and I don’t know how many foods we’ve gone through. He had been doing alright on another food, but then the study regarding potatoes, peas, lentils came out associating those ingredients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) came out, so I decided to change. This is one of the only foods that didn’t have a protein meal as the first ingredient (it’s actual lamb meat), didn’t have the above mentioned ingredients and has a small amount of taurine in it- everything that he needs. He had no problem with the change and the redness on his stomach and paws has nearly cleared up- he also really enjoys the food. I couldn’t ask for anything more! … more

    Huge Bites for Medium/ Intolerance

    After careful review we decided to switch to Farmina from another brand. My dogs, 2 adult NSDTRs, do well enough on the Chicken & Pomegranate blend. But my eldest, a 10-year old male, can't keep this down. We've tried this mix twice, and both times he's thrown up his food two days in a row, and then After careful review we decided to switch to Farmina from another brand. We've tried this mix twice, and both times he's thrown up his food two days in a row, and then refused it afterwards. The kibble size is also quite large - Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers are about 50 pounds (think Border Collie), and while they can eat this size kibble, we prefer the smaller size kibbles. I like to feed a variety of flavors, and unfortunately we'll have to leave Farmina behind. Our review is a personal experience, and may not be what you encounter with your dogs! … more
