my horse is just now recovering from a debilitating and expensive bout with lyme. I normally use equi-spot but stopped with the cold weather--big mistake! We had a few warmer days and he got at least one tick bite and eventually developed symptoms. He has never had a reaction or problems with this product and it has helped to keep him safe before. Most horses can tolerate it just fine and I feel that any risk from the chemicals are less than the devastation of these tick borne illnesses. BTW I had also used spray on products (both natural and synthetic) when discontinuing the eqi-spot and he still got bitten and ill. We have many many deer tick in my area. I really recommend using it if you do too. As a note, he didn't test positive and never had a fever but did have many other symptoms (severe soreness and stiffness, incredible loss of energy etc) and is making a full recovery with minocycline. Don't rely on the tests (they are often inaccurate) and listen to your gut if your horse seems unwell. The sooner you catch it the better. … more

This is our fourth time putting this on our horse. (My dad bought some through our local farm store, but I purchased this last one through Chewy because the price is better.) We've heard it takes time to build up to complete fly control. We still have flies, but worse than the flies are the horseflies This is our fourth time putting this on our horse. works pretty good!
By Kelly on Sep 30, 2021
I had never used this product before but it did seem to work pretty well. I have 4 horses that hate the spray bottle so this was much easier than wiping them down at least every two days. I had to figure out how to get just a drop here and there, The applicator might need a little work. I like to put stuff on their belly, and it was hard to do with this.

Horse Owner

I have used this for years. One trick to it working like it is intended to it to use it consistently throughout the fly season. Nothing works to keep 100% of any insects off but if you put this on your horse on a two week schedule, it’s like it builds up to provide the best protection. You won’t see the best control with just one application at first. But you will start to see it working after the second and third doses. So give it 4-6 weeks to take effect. And then keep using it all summer every two weeks!

Works great

We just moved from Wyoming to Texas and the flies are horrible. After applying Equi-Spot, by the next day, the flies where not as bad and my horses could relax.

Fly control
By Monine on Sep 21, 2020
Well I applied the flight control and also had to use double doses on my horses so far doesn't seem like it's work Tammy guards to flies might try it again I don't know it is kind of pricey for not working

Overall a good product. Does not last as long as product states. Pricey for what it does.

Not what I was hoping for
By JenD on Aug 30, 2020
The Farnam equi-spot was disappointing, I was hoping for a product that would work like a fly spray concentrate and last for at least 2 days with out needing to be re applied. Unfortunately I didn’t notice this product working at all, I even applied 2 doses at once on all the areas in the directions. I will not be purchasing this product again.
