Everyone knows that cats love to scratch. With the Scratchy Mat Doorknob Hanger from Fat Cat, you can make sure your favorite feline has something to sink her claws into—other than your favorite futon, that is. This natural sisal scratching pad hangs on any doorknob in your home, so your kitty can rub her feet and manicure her claws whenever she purr-leases. This helps to keep your cat's claws healthy while giving her an outlet to stretch and tone her muscles. Plus, the subtle door-hang design takes up much less space than your standard scratching post or cat tree. When she's allowed to act on those natural scratching behaviors, she may be less likely to exercise her claws on other surfaces in your home. And, unlike those other surfaces, the Scratchy Mat contains organic catnip, which can draw your cat in—telling her to scratch here, not there.

I hung it on a door, I put it on the floor... zero interest. :( I put on a couch arm rest to see if maybe that would discourage sofa scratches but that didn't work either. Oh well.
You just Never know if any of the cats will actually like something you order...lol..one out of five uses this so I guess it's a win....lol..thanks Chewy we just keep trying
My cats are very particular what they like to scratch on, and this scratcher works for them. I am very happy to have found this and at a nice price also. Saved to my favorites.
my cats have zero interest in this, which is so weird bc they love feather things and jute scratchers. might be because it just sort of floppily hangs on the door handle and isn't stable enough to be satisfying.
Since my doors are French doors, I don't have the ability to hang these mats on them. So, I put them on the floor - one for each cat - and they absolutely love just lying on them! They scratch, using their declawed front feet like they still have claws, then lie on them & move their bodies as though they are doing Yoga! When you purchase a toy for your cat, you never know how it's going to turn out, but these Scratchy Mats have made them very happy!
This is a great door scratcher. I like the extras. The cats use this door scratcher, so success in my book!
I have to be separated for food and medicine, but I am a smart boy and know that if I could just press the door handle the right way I could get out. My people friends got this to protect the door, and I use it regularly. They are getting a second one for the other door. The sisal is still in great shape after lots of use, but I did manage to loosen the cord at the top. My friends said it may just be glued in, not deeply enough, which is why they made me take a star away. I really think it deserves five. They stitched the side that was coming loose, and reinforced the cord and feather toy with report clips. No luck yet with that door handle, but I'll keep trying.
I actually don't have this hanging on a door. The kitties prefer to play with it on the floor, scratching, licking, rubbing, kicking, and even sleeping on it. I had to get a second one to keep the peace. They seem to love all the Fat Cat toys I get them, and this is just part of their playtime repertoire.
My Persian cat broke a claw on this mat. It was bleeding. Must have gotten stuck and he tried to pull to get loose. I tossed it out. I cut his nails regularly. They were not too long.
Samantha loves the scratch pad. In addition to scratching she rubs her face on the mat.
