Description

Everyone knows that cats love to scratch. With the Scratchy Mat Doorknob Hanger from Fat Cat, you can make sure your favorite feline has something to sink her claws into—other than your favorite futon, that is. This natural sisal scratching pad hangs on any doorknob in your home, so your kitty can rub her feet and manicure her claws whenever she purr-leases. This helps to keep your cat's claws healthy while giving her an outlet to stretch and tone her muscles. Plus, the subtle door-hang design takes up much less space than your standard scratching post or cat tree. When she's allowed to act on those natural scratching behaviors, she may be less likely to exercise her claws on other surfaces in your home. And, unlike those other surfaces, the Scratchy Mat contains organic catnip, which can draw your cat in—telling her to scratch here, not there.

Key Benefits
  • This natural sisal surface gives your cat a safe place to scratch indoors.
  • Easily hangs on any doorknob, so you can have a Scratchy Mat anywhere in your house.
  • Includes a removable feather toy, which is great for batting and swatting during playtime.
  • Made with catnip, this scratcher is designed to attract your kitty and encourage her to keep coming back.
  • Giving your cat a more ideal outlet for her scratching instincts may keep her from scratching other items in your home—like your furniture, doors and carpets.

    My cat is not impressed

By katy on Dec 28, 2020

I got this because my cat likes to scratch at my bedroom door when it's closed. I hung it on the doorknob in hopes he would scratch that instead, to no avail. The only time he touched this thing was when it first arrived and I sprinkled cat nip on it. He didn't scratch it per say, but he was biting it and pawing at the feather. Now it just hangs on my doorknob pointlessly. Even when I sprinkle more catnip on it, it remains untouched.

I really wanted my cat to like this

By Desi on Oct 22, 2020

Item is great quality and is super cute. I can see how some cats would love this and put it to use, but for some reason my cat just sniffed it and never payed no mind to it, even with encouragement & the help of cat nip added. I’m choosing to keep it. Maybe he’ll change his mind - every cat is different.

    Cats like it

By PeaceandHarmony on May 12, 2020

Both my cats seem to really like it. They laid it down on the floor and use it that way!

    Kitty Scratching Post

By KellyD on Dec 19, 2019

Santa is giving this scratching post-toy to my girl Pumpkin for Christmas, as she loves to use any and everything as her scratching post, especially door frames. It has great reviews on the website, and it looks like it would be appealing to Miss Pumpkin.

    Hanging scratcher

By Bobby on Feb 9, 2020

Just got this and my girl really likes it. Couldn't believe she actually pulled it off the door handle. A real winner.

    Works good

By Phil on Sep 1, 2019

Our 2nd one. The big cat eventually tears them up. This one hangs pretty good on the door knob. Better than ones with a thicker rope. We first hang it as pictured then give the strap a 2nd turn around the knob. Harder to do with the thicker rope and holds it really good. He's never pulled it off but rips it to shreds.

    Well made cat scratcher

    By Bky68 on Jul 30, 2019

I think the catnip affect didn't last but a day but one out of the 2 cats likes to use it more like a play thing to wrestle with. She is a lazy wrestler, she lays on the floor and wacks it around and sinks her claws into like she is trying to pull it down. Chews on the corners and rubs her face on it. But doesn't really use it for her regular clawing. She still likes to go after my walls. I'm still glad I got it, cause she does like to play with it. I really like that it's not cardboard.

Fat Cat Scratchy Mat Doorknob Hanger Cat Toy

By fatcat on Aug 16, 2019 Top 1000 Contributor

My Cat loves anything he can scratch! Didn't touch it when I hung it on doorknob so he is content to lay on it as a mat! I think a kitten would go nuts for this!
