sigh of relief
My Salem used to eat whatever you put in front of him but I’ve been sensing that he’s become a tiny bit picker as time has gone on. I wanted to put him on something healthier since his current food had more carbs than I would have liked. I saw this food be recommended on YouTube and decided to buy these packets as a cheaper option since I wasn’t sure if he’d go for it. I know you’re supposed to gradually transition food but I had a hard time since Salem would start eating directly from the packet as I was putting food in his dish. He loves this stuff!! I finally have him off dry food and I’m excited to start Introducing new flavors!
I love my new food
Mom bought this as an alternative to the boring, sometimes yucky “diabetic foods” the vet recommended. I eventually refused to eat them. I got pretty skinny during my hunger strike, but thank goodness she found Feline Naturals. Mom says Feline Naturals are high protein, low carb meals that don’t have any “gums,” so they’re good for me - being diabetic and all, but I don’t care. They’re just yummy. I come running when I hear her opening the pouch and I lick the bowl clean every meal. I’m also putting some weight back on, but not too much. Oh, and I like all the flavors too, but I think the Chicken & Lamb is my favorite. (Still not crazy about those insulin injections, though!)
chicken and lamb pouches
this is an excellent food which reduces waste often created with larger portions in cans. my cat never liked cans after they were opened and stored in the fridge, regardless of the care taken, the short period of time stored and warming it up to room temp. great quality. my cat was on Freeze Dried Chicken and Lamb which we hydrated with warm water. she liked it but we opted to move her on to wet food to enhance bladder health. she moved on to it with no problem and practically mobs us when we get ready to feed her
New Food for My Cats
This is a new food for my cats. I'm attempting to switch them from lesser quality food to this food. Takes time. They are getting used to it.
Not for Jade!
My cat wouldn’t even bother with this. I really wanted her to like it due to the ingredients and price point. She just wouldn’t be bothered with it.
Both my cats like it
The ingredients are so good and seems very nutritious. My younger kitten had runny poop for a bit but it stopped when we switched to these cans. It also has lots of broth at the bottom (make sure to pour it out first) which is great to help them stay hydrated.
I love all of the Feline Naturals new wet cat food. In fact, it has resolved my constipation issue. I am not a water drinker although we have running water fountains everywhere. So, I ended up at the veterinarian with END trouble. Don't get me started on that experience! The vet and I became enemies due to the enemas. Never again!!!!!!! I haven't had to visit that place for over 2 months now since, my parents began incorporating more wet cat food into my diet. I love the taste and the texture. My favorite FN freeze dried is Chicken and Lamb and they always mix it with the wet version.
Very happy about this addition to the FN line
The new Chicken & Lamb pouches became the new favorite of our resident food-critic. Before this, the only brand of food that she used to actually eat were by another NZ brand and nothing else. Her style is that she'll try everything once, but she'll excuse herself from further feedings unless it's the aforementioned brand--at least till now as she recently decided she'll also make an exception for FN. This is a dense and smooth pate that comes in a rich, broth-like liquid, which gels in the fridge like bone broth. Kitty seems to find this delicious, so we add a bit more water to increase her water consumption even further. In case it's useful for anyone reading this, our kitty isn't a fan of the canned version of this recipe but loves the pouch version. So if you didn't have luck with the cans, there is still a chance this might work. As with any cat food, your mileage may vary :)
Freeze-Dried version is best…
I bought the freeze-dried version of this food, which comes in pellets. My cat loved them, but I only bought a small bag as treats, due to the expense and to try. I mean she really loves the freeze-dried and eats them dry. So, I figured I’d buy the wet food, but she only eats a little and then most of it sits all day until thrown out. So, I ended up taking the freeze-dried and adding warm water to it, as the instructions say. She still loves it more than anything else. So, I will not buy this wet food anymore and only buy their freeze-dried version and it may become her primary food. Want to switch her to grain-free food, as her litter box is easier to clean (no fillers) and better for her. Iams weight and hairball dry food was making her sick and she had eaten it for 8 years. Then I researched and there are so many better cat foods than there were 8 years ago…
It is not a winner
I bought this cat food because it had a good rating and the ingredients looked just right for my boys. But, nope, not even a taste. Neither one would eat it. It did have gravy but it came out of the package very hard and it tough to break up in their bowls. Ah well… I should know better than to try and get my cantankerous old men (lol) to eat something new.
