  • Great Buy for our cats

    By on

I have purchased multiple litters for our 3 cat household. I get so tired of the dust! We keep 4 litter boxes going and I was very pleased with the price offered by Chewy, it's much more expensive at our closest pet store. So far, we have switched 2 boxes over to a mix of the Feline Pine (top layer) and we use Yesterday's News on the bottom. Eventually I may go to the pine completely but still deciding. It lasts about 2 weeks before we have to change it out, when I start noticing a urine smell when I scoop then we change it. I haven't noticed any dust and there's a lot less of the pellets on the floor than there used to be litter thank goodness. • Easier transition than expected

I just adopted a senior feline and was keen to get her off of clay litter. I wanted an eco option, and the fact that this product isn't produced via strip mining and could be delivered to my door sold it to me. I bought a bag of clay litter as well, planning to wean the cat over to pellets (the shelter I got her from used exclusively clay). We did one box fill with mostly clay and ~2 cups of pellets, then one box 50/50, and now we're on fill 3 and exclusively pellets. She hasn't shown any reluctance toward the change, and the pellets seem to hold up really well. I don't think I'm going to have to order another 40lb bag anytime soon. One thing I would mention is that while the pellets do smell nicely of pine, the cat has a hard time burying her feces in this litter. Whereas with the clay she'd just cover up her business and be done, with the pellets it tends to sit on top and the odor permeates our small apartment more easily. If you are sensitive to the smell of defecate, you might try a litter type with smaller pellets or shavings; I know my local pet store sells lots of similar wood and vegetable litters, and many of those have smaller bits and would probably be easier for the cats to cover with. For me, convenience and price will always win. I think we'll be on Feline Pine or similar from here on out. … more

  • Best Litter Out There

    By on

I've tried all different litters and no matter what the claim they all smell and make a mess but not this litter...it is odor free and the whole pellet idea just works great! Because it breaks down and falls through the screening tray the box is easy to clean and there is never wet nasty litter to stick to your cats feet. I use this with the Tidy Cat Breeze Litter box(also bought from Chewy!) and although you have to buy the liner sheets the savings on litter far out weighs the cost of the liners. Personally for me it's more about the cleanliness of the box than the money. Definitely recommend it!

  • PELLETS are THE best ....

Tried several different litters including a walnut based litter and it molded . Yuck . Corn based molded as well. Disgusting . That was with the correct depth and scooping daily . Back to pellets and they're the ..BOMB DIGGITY . Can't smell the poop, can't smell the pee (we have one cat) . When you walk into our house it smells like subtle FRESH pine but no cat urine or poo. It's very CLEAN smelling and although it is not clumping it is WAY more absorbent then any clumping litter I've ever tried . Removed solid poo daily , and them mix well afterward and shake the litter box back and forth so the pellets that have turned to just sawdust fall to the bottom. • Best for me, there is no tracking or dust

    By on

I've tried a lot of litters and feline pine is a very good product, not perfect, but very good. I gave this product 5 stars because there is no dust or tracking. My cat would track dust prints and litter all over my hard word floors.(If you have carpet you will not see this) and would track litter all over my furniture. Gross! The Feline Pine does not track at all. It does not clump so it's a little more work to clean the litter box itself, but I don't have to dust or vacuum my floors every day! It has made my life easier. 100% recommend if you hate the tracking that most litters make.

  • noisy but natural

    By on

I didn't want clumping litter because the shelter recommended against it. This is the opposite of clumping litter; when your cat pees on it, it disintegrates. It makes for easy cleaning using a sifting shovel. This litter is good with odor;even when my son fails to clean/change litter regularly (!), it doesn't really smell. The only down side is that our cat makes a lot of noise, digging around in it - they're like little pellets. As the week wears on and more pellets disintegrate, it gets less noisy. Plus, it can go right into the yard for composting.

  • Did not control odor

    By on

This litter did not prevent odor at all. I was surprised to see that other reviews said it did because it's just pine pellets, so I gave it a try. But, whoa, the smell from that litter box after a single poo was bad. Also, my cats did not like this litter, but that could have been my fault for not mixing in enough of their old litter when this one was first introduced. One of my cats ended up holding her urine and went all over the couch instead of in her box when I used this litter. The one plus is that it's all natural and the pellets did soak up urine pretty well. But poop was a different story because the whole pellets just stuck to it and you lost a lot when scooping out the solid material This litter did not prevent odor at all. • Smells Good, But Difficult to Clean Poop

    By on

I really like this litter for odor control and price. I don't like most generic clumping litters because they tend to have a lot of dust, tracking, and weird smells. This litter has very little dust, and barely tracks anywhere, and smells like fresh pine! However, it can be a little difficult to pick out the pieces of poop. If your kitty has wet poops or likes to kick the litter around a ton, the poop tends to spread everywhere and even after you remove it, there are slight remnants of it in the box. This leads to a gradual build up of poop and you have to replace all the litter AT LEAST once a week or it will start to smell pretty strong. • No smell and easy to clean

    By on

Your cat might originally resist using the pellets, but they will adjust even if they are older. I love that my litter boxes, I have four cats, don't smell like cat urine as the pine totally absorbs the smell. I have a bad back and as this product turns to pine dust as it is used, it is very easy and light to dump into the trash. You don't need to use much either, about an inch on the bottom. It makes cleaning the litter box simple, light and easy.

  • Does the job greatly

I have been using this for about 2 years now. If used as directions state exactly it works exceptionally well. No odor at all. ( I have 11 litter boxes) does not clump so don't expect that. With their urine the pellets turn to dust and with daily twice a day box scooping of the feces and a gentle stir the dust goes to the bottom and a fresh pile of pellets is now ready for their use. No tracking at all. Some pellets do come out of the litter to floor but no issues with that just sweep up. My cats had no problem adjusting to this litter. No unnatural odors just a pure pine smell.
