Feliway is a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone, used by cats to mark their territory as safe and secure. By mimicking the cat’s natural facial pheromones, Feliway creates a state of familiarity and security in the cat's local environment. As a result, Feliway can be used to help comfort and reassure cats while they cope with a challenging situation and help prevent or reduce the stress caused by a change in their environment.

Diffusers should be placed where the cat spends the most time. If you are considering this product for a cat peeing outside the box, you can also place the diffuser in the room where the cat is urine spraying most often.
FELIWAY® Diffuser should be used for at least 30 days. Most behaviors will show improvement within 7 days, including peeing outside the box and scratching furniture. Depending on the behavior, you may need to continue using the FELIWAY® diffuser longer than 30 days.
When choosing a plug for the FELIWAY® diffuser, make sure there is nothing above the outlet that will obstruct the airflow and diffusion of the pheromone. It should not be placed under a cabinet, behind a couch, or near an open window.
Refills will last up to 30 days but some variations may occur depending on air flow and ambient temperature within the room.
One diffuser will cover up to 700 sq ft in an open floor plan. The diffuser will not diffuse pheromone outside of any given room though. Given the size, floor plan, and where your cats spend the most time, you should consider getting more than one diffuser.
Diffuser heads should be replaced every 6 months.
Newly plugged in diffuser units may have a slight odor for the first 24 hours, but it may last up to 72 hours. Pheromone diffusers are made of self-extinguishing plastic and comply with the International Electro-technical commission (IEC), European (EN) and UL required standards.
Our two 7-year old cats were joined by a new cat, also 7 years old. Upon recommendations from others, we tried Feliway for 2.5 weeks and decided to discontinue using the product. Feliway may help some cats cope better with a new situation, but for us, it made matters worse. Our two resident cats became "grumpy" with each other, hissing at each other even though they had been the best sisters in the world. Our new cat became quite aggressive, escaping from his "safe room" and taking both our cats on in a fight. After about 48 hours off the product, all cats were back to their "new normal" with a strange cat in the house. Calmer Chicken Little
on Oct 28, 2019
Our 5 year old male tuxedo has always been a bit of a chicken little, hiding under chairs during rain storms. Recently it got much worse with him licking all the fur off his front legs and running to hide when we watch movies. We've only had this plugged in for 10 days, but he's stuck around through movies that he would have run away for. The fur hasn't all grown back yet, but it's only been 10 days. Our other cat who was Miss Cool to start with is fine with it too.
Almost immediately after plugging in the Feliway, both cats were sniffing away and trying to see where the smell was coming from. Once they figured out it was a "human thing" on the wall, they left it alone and were fine.
Helps to calm the kitties
on Nov 1, 2019
I have been using this product for a number of years. It has helped with behavioral issues, such as aggression and stress urinating, and it has kept my kitties calm and amicable towards each other. I would highly recommend it to those who are about to move to a new place. Plug in these babies a couple days before the move to make the transitions easier and less stressful for the kitties.
A note: I do not like the new, multiple cat version. It smells rotten and it does not work as well.

Our cats are getting older and of late have been urinating just outside the litter box. I saw an add for Feliway diffuser and decided to give it a try. I was out of town when it arrived. Instructions were to plug it in in the room where the cats spend time. She did but accidents were still happening. So I was not overly impressed. Then I considered our house is pretty open in design. So I purchased a second Feliway and plugged it in closer to their litter boxes. Well fingers crossed but it has now been two days and no accidents! Hurray. It seems to be working. Nice not to find puddles outside the box.
AMAZING! MUST BUY!!!

My new kitten was peeing on my bed every night for weeks. Even when we were sleeping in the bed!! (So gross). I tried everything. I never yelled at him or got upset. As soon as I used these plug ins he stopped the next day! Absolute amazing! I would reccomend to anyone! I also bought the spray version to spray on my bed for the first week so that he would not want to spray in that area and use the litter box as his alternative. I LOVE THIS AND WILL USE THESE FOREVER! I HOPE THEY NEVER STOP MAKING THESE!
Chill Cat Loving This Potion
on Oct 23, 2019
Dear Diary, my pet parents invested in these little plug in things that remind me of home. They smell so good, calm me down, keep me from biting them and strangers...well, most of the time...I feel less compelled to kill the UPS man and other threats to my captor family. While I still enjoy a good nip at the ankles from time to time...to play of course...this stuff is magic. It does make me want to listen to the Grateful Dead, though. Anyway...just keep it coming. I think it works, but uses up fast

I've had this for about 2 weeks, having previously tried just the spray, and I think it has helped my cat's separation anxiety. However, the diffuser is almost empty after just 2 weeks. It runs warm, but not super hot. Not sure if it's just a bad diffuser or the outlet that's making it go so quickly, as I have a few friends who all use this and they only need to replace theirs once a month (as advertised).
Oil leaked everywhere! Waste of my $
on Nov 9, 2019
I've had this plugged in for 3 days and it leaked liquid all over my carpet. I'm extremely infuriated with buying a product that is being sold that obviously from other reviews, is defective. I work hard for the money I make. I should receive a product that doesnt make matters worse. I want and expect a refund on this AND my shipping!!
undecided if this really works

I honestly haven’t noticed a difference in my cat. She was an outdoor stray I took in. She seemed perfectly happy before I got the Feliway and hasn’t acted any different. She has stopped chewing on one of the boxes she plays in, but I didn’t care because she seemed to like it. Now though she’s chewing on it again. I got the Feliway because I thought she might be stir crazy. But again, no difference in behavior. She still scratches up the furniture. Overall, she appears to be the same kitty: happy and healthy with and without the Feliway.

I have used Feliway diffusers in the past, with different cats, with some degree of success. PRincess Snowball, who shares a home with me, seems to be indifferent to the diffusers. Specfically, I plugged one in near a corner where she has peed outside her litter box. Three days later she peed there again, within 3 feet of the diffuser. Anybody have other suggestions?
