Feliway Not So Great...
Hi; I recently purchased two complete plug in dispensers of the feliway classic, plus the spray. I needed to calm my cats down as we have a newbie added to the mix. Even before the newbie got here, my two cats were fighting alot more than ever before, they use to never fight! I installed both dispensers and sprayed the worst areas as well. It's been about a week to ten days now and there is absolutely no difference. Unless something dramatic happens, I probably will not purchase it again. Thanks...
Wouldn't introduce new cats without it
Although hard to measure it's effect, I strongly believe starting this prior to bringing in a new pet makes for a better transition. My pet parent friends also recommend this as do rescue groups. Pets have such a keen sense of smell -targeting that makes sense. Worth the purchase; it certainly can't hurt and most likely will make a difference.
Purrfect for a Scaredy Cat
For some weird reason, our cat would develop a bladder problem due to stress. So far, this pheromone- diffusing product seems to be making for a more chilled-out cat. When the first container neared empty after 30 days, he seemed a little more revved up. Thus, we plan to continue with this easy fix.
Feliway is fine
We recently adopted a mildly aggressive feral cat who was used to killing and feeding on wild snowshoe hares and other small game. After having him neutered, getting his shots and a health exam, he slowly became somewhat domesticated. It took weeks before he would come near us and months before he would come in the house! When he started becoming aggressive towards our other cat, we looked for calming products. Long story short...Feliway Classic Calming Diffuser works! No scratching on furniture and no aggressive behavior towards our other cat.
Feliway calming diffuser.
The product works. My cats tolerate each other now. Less confrontation. Ordered on line so no interaction with customer service. When I do call about something the customer service agents are so helpful and courteous. I also like the fact that someone answers, promptly and is eager to help.
Feliway Diffuser Really Works
I use the Feliway Diffuser for my cat who has had a history of marking my house. This has helped to get him to use the litter box instead. I did not think there was a product on the market that would help with this very difficult problem but I fully endorse this product to help calm the most stressed cat. My cat is 14 years old now and I have used this product off and on through out the 14 years with great success.
Best for scared kitties!
My newly adopted elderly stray changed completely five days after plugging in Feliway. She went from hiding and skittish to snuggly and friendly so quickly. I would recommend this product to any cat owner.
Helps, but additional precautions needed.
We got this to help our cats transition in a new puppy into our house. While this seems to work at calming them down, one of the cats still tends to pee in places she shouldn't. I think it works great for general overall peace in the house, but additional precautions are needed for major life events like a new puppy.
Results may vary, but worth a shot
Our cat is a total stress cadet and we needed something to help calm her and improve her elimination habits (constantly going to the litter a couple of times an hour, other TMI issues, etc.) that the vet identified as a result of anxiety. After a few weeks her condition eventually improved, though we thought the Feliway wasn’t part of it and didn’t buy a refill after the first vial ran out, which turned out to be a big mistake. After she immediately receded back into her old elimination habits, we decided to give the diffuser another try and it was like night and day. She’s still scared of loud noises and new things, but she only “goes” when necessary and doesn’t do weird pole-vaults out of the litter box, so I count that as a win. Results may vary for your cat as they did for mine, but it’s worth a shot as long as you don’t forget to also commit to other anxiety-reducing methods (playing multiple times per day, quality cuddle time, grooming, multiple litter boxes that are cleaned often).
Anxious kitty? Here's the antidote
We have 2 cats, one of them highly values security and gets very anxious about everything. This diffuser doesn't eliminate his issue, but it slices his symptoms down exponentially! I actually catch him wandering over to it to get a "hit" sometimes. :D
