Use only in properly functioning 120-volt electrical outlets; do not use with extension cords, adapters or converters. Diffuser Power Indicator Light: When plugged into a functioning outlet, a light on the diffuser will indicate that the heater is receiving power. If the indicator light does not turn on, check to ensure the outlet is functioning properly by plugging a different working device into the outlet (e.g., a lamp). If the diffuser light still does not turn on, please contact FELIWAY® product support. Danger: Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Call physician immediately if ingested. Do not induce vomiting. Just screw the refill vial onto the diffuser unit and plug it into an electric socket in a room where the cat spends most of her time.
Avoid plugging the diffuser behind furniture as it may result in impaired circulation of the pheromones and the efficacy of the product may be compromised.
The diffuser should be plugged in continuously for best results.Refill vials last for 30 days and one diffuser covers an area up to 700 sq. feet. If you have a multi-story home, you may need more than one diffuser.
I adopted a pretty anxious kitten who had a difficult time transitioning upon adoption. Feliway was a lifesaver. I would say it took about 30% of the edge off for Winnie, which for some may not be huge, but it is enough when you just want your furbaby to be comfortable. Winnie eventually adjusted well, but is a very active little dude as he grows and can get too excitable. Feliway helps with pet and play aggression. I can always tell when it is time to refill. Winnie does best with 1 classic bulb and 1 multicat bulb even though he’s an only child, haha. All in all, worth the price.
I was having trouble with my neutered male cat still spraying in the house in the spring. I cleaned that up and started using these and haven't had any issues since. He was a stray, and I brought him in and wasn't letting him out. Besides using these, I did start letting him out again on days I'm home for short periods as the Vet said that might also help. Between the 2 things, the problem is solved.
My Russian Blue has terrible anxiety as part of his PICA and we've struggled to help him for years. We got a new vet who put him on a medication and recommended a Feliway plug-in. He quickly turned into a different cat. Skeptical that the Feliway was partially responsible, I unplugged it and put it away and it only took a day for him to go back to incessant licking and chewing. It's definitely the combination of the two. So glad my Rocket is so much more comfortable. We'll definitely be using Feliway for a long time to come.
I recommend 1000% !! I have 7 Ragdolls and 1 Maine Coon — all neutered. They all coexist well with the diffusers throughout the home. I can tell when they need replaced when spats or quarrels begin. I couldn’t have my boys without the calming diffusers. Also, when I had a single cat if I went away for even just a few days I would ALWAYS come home to a deposit near my pillow on the bed. That is when I first tried a Feliway diffuser and he NEVER did it again when I was away. That has been about 12 yrs ago.
I finally tried the product after an embarrassing vet appointment when our adorable cranky cat was really nervous, hissing and swatting her paws/claws at everyone. She is still herself, not very friendly (we love her just the way she is), but calmer when under stress, which is healthier for her and others. I'm glad I gave it a try.
I put the diffuser in room with my "nervous nellie" and she was licking herself non-stop. So I moved it to the living room where my other 3 cats hang out and it seems to be working fine
I have a 17 year old cat that walks around making loud obnoxious noise all the time and thought this would calm him down and quit doing this. No change in his behavior.
We have 2 kitties that get nervous when we are away on vacation. We do have a pet sitter come in twice/day. I got calming collars as well and plugged this diffuser in a week before we left. It seems to have helped them both with their nervousness. I kept plugged in until empty. I will use every time now that we go away. Tge price is worth peace of mind.
One of my cats is traumatized and would not come off the fridge. I plugged this in and, while she still wouldn't come down, her demeanor changed to become much more relaxed. When it ran out, I noticed she got more tense, and when I plugged in the new one, back to relaxed. It's an amazing tool!!
I guess my abyssinian cat(male) is stubborn. I tried for 4 months but his mean behavior of peeing onto our dog’s pillows or my clothing, if I left it on the floor for few minutes, or into bathtub and even into sneakers, continues. He is sweet cat in general, no idea what provokes it and I had high hopes for this product under advice of our vet, who owns the same PIA cat. Is there anything else I could try? Hope so
