How often do I need to spray carrier for a 14 hour road trip
Answer by Chewy • Apr 03, 2019
Spray 8 to 10 pumps of Feliway 15 minutes before the cat is introduced into the sprayed environment (car, carrier, bedding, table for medical examination, etc.). Effects last approximately 4 to 5 hours. Re-apply as needed or if you notice a reduced effect.

how well does this work on a cat that is terrified of being put into carriers?
Answer by Chewy • Oct 03, 2017
It will create a state of familiarity and security, so your cat feels comfortable in their carrier.

Answer by Chewy • Aug 02, 2018
This product is composed of a synthetic analogue of the F3 fraction of feline facial pheromone which is not detectable by humans.

Seems to work well for grumpy cats!

I have an often grumpy female kitty who hates sharing her mommy with her feline sibling(s). She wants to be the only baby and FF to we just got a new kitten and she was miserable. I had an older bottle of this laying around that I guess I had forgotten about. I sprayed a few shots here and there where she was hanging out (hiding from the new kitten), and it really did seem to put her in a better mood! I am going to keep using this as they all try to acclimate and hope it will stave off the sibling rivalry as much as possible. I took a star off because this new order has a less than full bottle and I think that is ridiculous. It's a liquid, not a bag of chips. If you are selling 60ml put it in a container that holds that amount.

WANT A HAPPY HOUSEHOLD?

When you have multiple pets in the house, there is always going to be stress amongst them. So, to maintain an atmosphere of harmony, usually, you will designate territories for each. However, that does not always work because these babies will want to explore and investigate what's outside of their area. When using Feliway you find a house of harmony and after a few months of using either the spray and/or the plug in device, you will not require "assistance" because the babies will be more inclined to tolerate each other more. Was pleasantly surprised at the efficacy of this product because all other products failed to accomplish what FELIWAY was able to provide.

Feliway Spray

I haven't used the spray yet but honestly can't see as the plug-ins are that effective for my cats. I have been trying to introduce a neutered male into my house with 3 other cats. Have a plug-in in most every room & the males still act like they want to kill each other & of my two spayed females, the smaller one, ears back & tail switching, still attacks the other female. These are all rescues & we think the smaller female might be the other's off-spring. I realize the smaller one is probably trying to be alpha female but would have thought the plug-ins would tone her done some. Everyone I talk to seems to think these are great, so would recommend at least trying them even though they don't seem to work for us.

Can't tell if it is helping

I bought both diffusers and this spray to help with a mostly feral kitty, hoping she would calm down and be less stressed. Been using both almost a month - don't really see any difference to be honest. She has also now been put on a medication to help with anxiety so results may be confusing. Not recommending because am not sure of results.

Diffusers worked better IMO

I bought this spray instead of using the diffusers like I have in the past but I sprayed it on my cat's blanket (using recommended amount of spray) that he naps on and let it air out for about 20 minutes. He jumped onto his bed and sniffed at it and then would not sleep in his bed again. I had to air out his bed and days later put a new blanket down for him and then he went back to it. Not sure if the smell was just to overwhelming for him but I will go back to using the diffuser when needed but it was worth a shot.

Feliway Classic spray

The product is easy to use, and is odorless to humans as described. So far I have not noticed any improvement in my cat's behavior, however. I will continue to use it and hope it will work. I have 5 cats, all indoors, the 8 month old kitten is overgrooming and making bald patches on his belly. My vet told me it's stress related and reccommended this product.

great for car rides, not for claw clips

I spray this on a large, old pillow case and place it over Miss Kitty's carrier for a brief while when traveling to see family. She seems more calm when I do this (I also have her carrier propped up on a suitcase so she can see out the windshield, and a rigged way to secure the carrier with a seat belt). But when I take her to the vet to get her claws clipped, they use this and it does not seem to work. I am present for the clippings and sometimes I assist in holding her. I can tell that the employees at my vet's office do the clipping properly, so she just really hates the process! This doesn't seem to do much for that scenario. I would say this is good if your cat isn't super stress and is only slightly anxious. I would probably buy it again just in case it does help some.

Traveling cat

This stuff works great. The last time I had to put my cat in a car was a nightmare. He cried and acted depressed for three days after. I decided on our recent move that I would try it and see if it helped. He never cried or acted stressed on the five hour drive. It even helped him adjust to the new home. I highly recommend.

Traveling with cats

My cats hate to travel. I sprayed Feliway on towels in each crate. I would not say my cats were happy about traveling but they did not complain as much this time.
