Feliway & diffuser
Diffuser overheats. Emits puffs. oily residue. enter outlet. Unplugged & let outlet dry out. Smells burnt. Sweet odor. Ingredients feliway Irritates my eyes, throat swell & aggravated my asthma. I saw no difference in my cat's behavior. Spray is worst. Settled where u spray. Stays oily. Use soapy water didnt help clean up. Read the studies be4 purchasing. No proof it works except waste money. do not buy. Chewy refunded my money. No hassles.
Buyer Beware May have Opposite Effect
As the title says, buyer beware. Feliway Multicat *can possibly* have the opposite effect on your cat. My older cat Squeak (about 14) is having some medical issues and the younger cat Charlie (about 2) is... well, I wouldn't call him aggressive necessarily, but he's definitely rambunctious and can sometimes hassle Squeak. So, I bought the Feliway Multicat (I have 3 cats) in hopes that it might help calm things down a little bit. Well, it didn't seem to have much effect on Charlie or Astro but it had the **OPPOSITE** effect on Squeak. I woke up a half hour before my alarm clock went off to movement on the bed. Squeak was being 'squirmy' and biting at the blankets. When I moved my hand under the blanket, he bit down hard. Not in the usual 'cat playing with hands & feet under the blanket' but more 'attack.' I tried to pet him and he grabbed and bit my hand. (1st Photo: Squeak biting at the blanket) After I got up and took my shower, he was downstairs and still being 'squirmy' on the living room floor. He would squirm, lick his paws, clean his head, and 'throw punches' at the other 2 cats if they came too close. He would also grab my legs and bite my hand if I tried to pet him. Normally, he's a very calm cat and is my 'buddy.' Usually in the same room as me at all times sleeping on a chair or other comfortable place so this was a BIG departure from his normal behavior. I realized that the only change in environment/diet in the past couple days was adding the FELIWAY MULTICAT. I unplugged it and opened the window despite it being 32F outside to air the place out. Closed the window and then headed to work. When I got back home, Squeak had returned to his normal behavior. (2nd Photo: Squeak's normal behavior!) Feliway might work for some cats, but use caution! It may not have the effect you expect!!
Great Stuff
My cats calmed down and my older gal is grooming herself again. My vet uses these at her clinic and recommended it. I am so happy I tried it.
Didn't notice any effect
We've tried Feliway twice over the years, on occasions when our cats were not getting along, and really didn't notice any effect either time. We gave it about 2 months (we'd bought the kit plus one refill); that should have been enough time for an effect to kick in.
Works Great
I've been using this brand for years with my two cats. They have calmed down around each other for the most part. Along with putting a calming aid in their wet food, these help around the house. It is recommended to change the diffuser every 6 months. They're expensive but worth the money.
Fire Hazard
I had this in wall for less than 2 weeks, didn't see any signs of it working. I started smelling a burnt smell coming from the diffuser and it was extremely hot. I immediately unplugged it. It certainly would have caught fire if I would have left it in. This Feliway product is a dud in my opinion but I do like their Classic spray, it does work.
Really helps!
We tried this for our 4 cats( two 5 month old kittens and two 3 year olds) and it really helps. My 3 yr old cats are both anxious, former feral kittens, and the difference in their behavior has been noticeable and positive. They seem much happier, there is less arguing and much more playing. They all ran over and sniffed it once I plugged it in, so they very clearly smelled it. Also tried these on my daughters cats at her house and she also had positive results with her fighting cat issues.
solved issue
when i got my third cat, there was some bonding issues between him and my other two cats. the day i started using this product, all the cats started playing and sleeping together.
Works wonders
This multiCat 30 day diffuser and the starter kit plug-in diffuser and refill works wonders!! We have two (2) indoor cats about 4 months apart that wrestle and/or fight often. They were feral kittens born to two (2) different feral mothers. We adopted them and brought them indoors. They're now a little over 2 y/o. Since getting and using the diffusers, they seem to be getting along much better!! This was a great purchase and I intend to keep ordering the refills!! Thank you Chewy for making this available!!!!
Feliway calming
My 2 yr old sibling cats do not like this, they sneezed terrible since I plugged it in I thought they were coming down with something, but being house cats only I could not believe it, so unplugged it and no more sneezeing!
