Continue to Canada siteAfter cats give birth, they naturally produce pheromones that send “harmony messages” to their little ones. These messages are calming and promote bonding. Feliway MultiCat 30 Day Starter Kit Calming Diffuser for Cats mimics these natural pheromones to restore harmony between felines who live together.

The pheromone released by Feliway MultiCat is the synthetic copy of the natural comforting pheromone released from the mother cat's mammary area during the nursing period. This appeasing pheromone helps maintain the bond between the kittens and their mother and helps kittens feel safe and secure. The scientific team at Ceva has found that this pheromone can help reduce tension and conflict between cats in the home.
No. Pheromones are species-specific and will only be detected by other cats in the home. Cats of all ages detect these pheromones throughout life.
Yes. There is no minimum age for using Feliway pheromones. Kittens are able to perceive pheromones in the environment and respond accordingly.
It depends on the nature and the extent of the reason you are using the product. The minimum recommended duration for most situations is 1 month. But some situations may benefit from permanent use.
Feliway MultiCat has been tested in households where there is tension and conflict between cats. Feliway MultiCat has not been tested for aggression toward the owner(s). In this situation, consulting your veterinarian or a behaviorist is strongly recommended.
No -- the diffuser should be plugged in continuously day and night. Frequent unplugging may prevent the diffuser from working properly. Efficacy was demonstrated in clinical trials with non-interrupted use of the diffuser allowing the cat to constantly perceive the pheromone’s signal. Furthermore, cats are awake and active even at nocturnal times.
You may continue using your diffuser. According to toxicological data on the components of our products, no particular risk is expected following inhalation of the pheromone products when used as recommended.
Yes, a diffuser can be used in a house (or a vet clinic) where there is an air-conditioner, provided that it is not plugged in near the air-conditioner, vents, cold air returns, or exhaust fans. Being near additional air-flow may accelerate the diffusion process and the refill vial may not last a full 30 days.
When the diffuser is plugged into a working outlet, the diffuser head will be warm to the touch.
Usage with open windows or heavy air flow may result in diffusion at a faster rate. The product may not last the full expected 30 days. In such a case, a different diffuser location should be considered within the house, targeting the area where the cat(s) spends most of its time.
Continue to help reduce tension and conflict amongst your feline friends with an additional Feliway MultiCat Refill!

In three days there was a change in my house. My oldest cat quit being aggressive towards the other two girls. The other two girls were nemeses from another house and have started tolerating each other better. They have also started accepting the new male cat as long as he stays out of their food dishes. The best change is we can all be in the living room without any tension. They still watch each in a relaxed way but I haven't had any major fights since I plugged the calming diffuser in. YAY! That's a win in my book.
I have used Feliway for years with many cats. I have always found it to be calming for cats who are a bit nervous. It's not a personality changer, and I have never looked for dramatic changes. However, it's always been good at taking the edge off of anxiety. I'm using multicat for a single-cat household now and find it just as effective as the original version.
Admittedly we haven't been using this for the full 30 days but so far, it does not seem to be working for my orange tabby that wants to bully my foster kittens. He's still hissing and swatting at them. We put these two plug ins in the rooms where they hang out the most and still no real change noticeable. It's disappointing - I really hoped it would work.
I used two in one room to try and help my cats get along. I used them until they ran out and never noticed any calming effect, they still seem stressed and fight. We have plenty of resources for both so I was hoping this would help. I did see the vet had this diffuser in their office so maybe it works for other cats
With a six cat household, problems began when the senior and top cat for many years passed away. Two cats wanted the new position so there was fighting and urinating in inappropriate places. The cat pheromones in the diffuser did its magic and the cats behavior returned to normal the very first day I plugged it in.
I used to be skeptical about the Feliway MultiCat 30 Day Starter Kit Calming Diffuser for Cats, thinking it was just a waste of money and a myth. However, after giving it a try, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's only been 3 days, but I've noticed a significant improvement in my cat Juicy's behavior towards the other cats. She seems less depressed and no longer howls for my attention. Instead, she's actively engaging with the other cats, playing and even showing more territorial behavior by climbing to the highest spots on the cat trees. She's also more proactive about interacting with other cats up there. This is a change from her previous reluctance to venture into those areas or take the initiative in securing her food and territory. Furthermore, Juicy has been displaying more affectionate behavior towards her humans. However, I'm still a bit skeptical about its effectiveness lasting for a full 30 days, as I can barely detect any scent from it even when I'm right next to it.
We hav two additional cats in our home. We've tried the plug in to help out #1 cat to be less aggressive. (18 lb neutered male). It's been 2.5 weeks. Didn't help in this case. Plug in was placed in living room where he mostly hangs out. It was worth a try
I recently purcahsed this item actually i have bought 2 of them from Chewy . Both leak oil all over my floors . One of them today had a strong burning order so i unplugged it . It is too bad since they do seem to be helping calm my cats
My vet recommended this, as my oldest female continues to reject our female kitten (Now 1-year-old). I was hoping to avoid medication and this is just the thing that has helped. It hasn't stopped it completely, but it has helped. Plus, everybody seems a little "happier."
I’ve had this solution for about 2 weeks so far and I really love it BUT it leaks a lot. I’ve tried everything to not get it to leak but nothing seems to help. Will probably continue to buy refills because it seems to work so well for my cats.
