Does this plug-in heat up? I remember an air diffuser plug in that did and it was a fire concern. I’d like to try this but I’m worried about it getting overly hot.
Answer by ChewyFeb 21, 2018
When the diffuser is plugged into a working outlet, the diffuser head will be warm to the touch. If the instructions are followed and the outlets are working correctly, this will not pose as a safety hazard.

Which is better for a cat with over grooming problems- multi cat or regular?
Answer by ChewySep 18, 2017
The regular Feliway can help a cat who over grooms due to stressful situations. The Feliway MultiCat helps reduce tension and conflict in multi-cat households.

Will my air purifier counter the diffuser?
Answer by ChewyNov 20, 2018
This can be used in a house (or a vet clinic) where there is an air conditioner or air purifier provided that it is plugged away from the unit, vents, cold air returns, or exhaust fan. Plugging it in too close will compromise the longevity of the pheromone.

I have been using the single cat Feliway plug-ins for a while now, but I need to switch to multi cat. Can I use the Multicat refills in my regular Feliway diffusers?
Answer by ChewyJun 22, 2018
The single and multi refills can be used interchangeably in Feliway diffusers.

totally worth it

We have three cats, 6, 4, and almost 2 years old. The oldest is easily startled/scared (even though he's the biggest), and has seemed a little stressed since getting our youngest (shedding more primarily). Also our 4-yo and 2-yo haven't been super friendly, but just put up with each other. So I got this a month ago to try and ease nerves and attitudes all around. Within about 3 weeks, the 4-yo and 2-yo were sleeping together and grooming each other, and we've even caught all three sleeping together. Could be a coincidence of just having been under the same roof long enough, but I think this has actually made the different. Greater peace, love, and tranquility is definitely a plus! Try it!

Burning smell

I’ve tried Feliway with several cats over the years, and it’s only had an effect on one. It made enough of a difference for him, though, that I kept buying it. The last couple of diffusers I’ve gotten have only lasted a month or two before they started smelling like they’re burning. I’ve tried using them in different outlets; they still smell. I don’t feel comfortable leaving them plugged in when they smell like that, and in this economy, I can’t afford to replace the diffuser every month, so I won’t be buying Feliway anymore.

It has made all the difference!

My 5 kitties have lived together with me all their lives, but recently one of them started bullying another one, causing her to pee and poop in odd places and be afraid to come down from her high perch. I remembered reading about Feliway so I bought it and wow! What a difference! No more urine or poops outside the box and no more cowering. I have a nice, calm kitty family again!

Like Night and Day

My girlfriend and I moved apartments with our 2 cats (both 2 year old girls from the same litter). When they were younger (prior to moving) they cuddled and got along great, playing together all the time, sleeping together, grooming each other. However, once we moved they started fighting constantly blocking each other from food and just generally not getting along. It got to the point where they needed to be separated in different rooms and could not be in contact. Well out of desperation I discovered Feliway and a month later they are back to their normal behavior. I could not recommend any more! It’s great and worked perfectly!

Feliway Multicat

I must admit, I thought Feliway was just a gimmick. I bought it as a last resort to my cat's anxiety. The next step would have been meds, and I was trying to avoid harmful medication. The change I saw in my cat after only 4 days was night and day. He was much more content. No more anxiety, no more yowling, no more sadness. For anyone in the fence about this, I advise you to try it.

didn’t work

I’ve used this a decade ago to help two cats get along that were about 3 years apart in age. I have no idea if it actually worked, but I quit using it after 6 months and eventually the two cats became the best of friends. Fast forward 10 years and I got a little kitten which didn’t get along with the original two cats, which were seniors by this time. I’m positive the age difference was the big issue as the kitten wanted to play and the older cats wanted to be left alone. I tried it for the better part of a year and it just didn’t do anything. Even using extra diffusers did nothing at all. What actually DID work to calm down the kitten(which is now nearly fully grown) was to get another kitten. Now the older kitten has someone closer to his age that does want to play and now he leaves the older two alone.

Helps with behavioral problems

One of my cats has anxiety attacks and overgrooms. He has several bare spots where he has licked himself naked. He's extremely difficult to administer pills and this has helped a lot. Plus, with 5 cats, there are moments when they get snippy with each other. I've only had this for about 2 weeks but there is a definite improvement. The anxiety cat is calming down and not grooming himself bare and there is less fussing among the whole group. I plan to stick with this.

No more 4am Zoomies

We are a multi-cat household with 3 males. I was skeptical about the product, but my husband and I have a very hyperactive kitty that would do zoomies around the house at 4am, yowl to go outside, and wake us up. His behavior has calmed down a lot. Two of our males started playing and sleeping together on our bed when they used to stay away from each other.

Wish it worked, but nope

My best friend and I have two cats that don't hate each other, but are very incompatible. Mine is hyper and has no socialization history with other cats, hers is timid and has a history of being stalked and attacked by another cat. We just want them to tolerate each other in our small apartment, but we had two of these plugged in and nothing changed, even with strategic placement. Hemp oil, however, once all of these were emptied, helped.

Seems to be working for overgrooming

I have a black female cat that showed up at our house about 3 yrs ago. She'd obviously been through some tough times as her tail and front left leg had been broken, but healed crooked. She's been overgrooming a couple of spots on her front legs and her belly to the point that the hair is thin. I THINK it looks like she's growing hair back since I plugged these in a few weeks ago.
