Great cage. Nice size. The door is a bit small and located at the top of the cage but that’s not the worst. My only real complaint was the water bottle. My hamster chewed the rubber ring off the spout which made the spout fall off and the bottle wasn’t usable. The size of the spout itself was a bit large as well. He struggled to drink from it (didn’t flow well) which is what I think stressed him out and caused him to chew on it and break it.
Too small for a hamster
on Sep 24, 2020
Ideal for a dwarf hamster but I purchased for my albino male hamster, Felix and after some alterations and additions it is now an ideal home for him. Please beware the door on top is quite loose so I always keep a candle over it and the wheel included is MUCH too small for anything bigger than a dwarf hamster (dwarf hamsters definitely deserve a larger wheel but it could be used temporarily)
Love This Cage
on Sep 25, 2020
My hamster loves this cage! It is so spacious and she goes on both floors all day so excited to run all around. The one issue is the big whole in the top of the second floor for the wheel. My solution is that I put a different wheel on the second floor and a hammock/swing in the middle which she loves. Another thing is the wheel is quite loud. Since the cage is so big it does take a bit to clean but definitely worth it since has so much space.

I’m very happy I chose to buy this cage! The only problem with it is that there’s no way to open it from the side only the top so it’s hard to get my hamster out. Other then that I definitely recommend!
Syrian Hamster Baby

Perfect for my Syrian Hamster baby. He's seemed very happy from day one! I am going to add to it, so he'll have more room, but he seems perfectly happy for now. The wheel didn't seem to stay in place, it kept just falling down to the floor (idk if it's supposed to be like that but it seems like it would be hard for them to run like that, plus the wheel is way too small). I totally removed the wheel and put in the Exotic Nutrition Silent Runner instead. This wheel fits just fine, and the hamster loves it. It's a stand alone wheel, but it's very sturdy and pretty much stays in place, and it's super quiet.
Water bottle malfunction
on Aug 24, 2020
Water bottle does not work. If water wasn't an essential element for the animal, I would have given this cage 5 stars. I have not found any water bottle that can be used with the harness this cage comes with. The wires are too small for a different type of water bottle to fit from the outside. I also tried a water bottle that hangs from the top, but the wires and design wont allow that either. I am currently trying to get a replacement from the company but this is a headache. I literally have to hand feed the hamster water all day.I am very disappointed. This seems to be a problem based on other reviews.
Hamster might get hurt
on Aug 15, 2020
My hamster loves this cage, yes it is a bit small but it at least has two levels. The issue I have with this cage is that there's a big open middle square shaped area in the second floor with a tiny wall that does nothing to stop your curious hamster from climbing over and falling into the bottom level. My hamster also can easily climb up to the top level from reaching up into that square and pulling himself over. Bad design honestly. It just shouldnt be there. This second floor plastic level is removable so there is literally no reason for this big square opening to be there.
Love this cage!

When I was reading the reviews for this cage there were complaints like “ way to small “ and “ plastic came cracked “ I thought this might not be the right cage, but I decided to give it a try. When it came I was super surprised! The cage was the perfect size for my hamster, and neither the package or the cage were damaged. I love it so much, my ham does too. The only thing is, the wheel squeaks a little when my ham runs on it. My water bottle doesn’t leak which is surprising based on what some of the reviews said. This is the best cage ever!
Not large enough

I bought this cage prematurely without doing proper research, which is my fault. Hamsters (all types) need A MINIMUM of 450 square inches of floor space, but much more than that is recommended. This has about 340sq in of floor space (and no, the 2nd tier doesn't count). I'm writing this review for unaware hamster owners that see all the positive reviews and assume this cage is fine. The bottom also isn't deep enough, because hamsters need a minimum of 6 inches of bedding for burrowing. My new hamster immediately started chewing the bars and looking for ways out. For those that don't know, bar chewing means they are bored and is not good for them at all. It breaks my heart. I highly recommend you move past this cage and look for a bigger one!… more

Hamster hasn't been able to escape from it yet, and she loves her built in basement. It was also a breeze to put together.
