Why do your products appear different at times?

Our products contain natural ingredients without the addition of artificial coloring or binders. As a result, you may note variation in the appearance of our products between batches.

Chicken Fat and Chicken Allergies:

Our bodies and our pet’s bodies react differently with proteins and fats. An allergy is caused by the bodies reaction with the protein of what we’ve come in contact with. Our chicken fat is free of chicken protein and will therefore not cause a reaction for those animals with a chicken allergy.

Do you use GMO ingredients?

No, FirstMate and Kasiks do not contain GMO ingredients.

What is a meal? How does it compare to a fresh meat?

Chicken meal is a concentrated source of chicken protein in which most of the moisture and some of the fat has been removed. Meals such as these provide nearly 4 times more protein than the fresh ingredients.

First Mate and Kasiks are the two soft foods I rely on to help my dogs in their multi source of protein and nutrition I supply them. Trust , quality and healthy dogs are things I don’t have to question when ordering these products from chewy.

FirstMate Wild Tuna Formula Limited Ingredient Grain Free Canned Dog Food

    By on

One of my dogs, Blu is on an all fish diet so I'm always looking for different canned food to mix in with his dry. This is the first time I tried this food and both my dogs love it. It's a pate but soft so it mixes well with their dry food. Will definitely buy this again.

    My picky dog

    By on

I really thought, since my dog always eats my cat's food, she would love this Tuna. She won't touch it. ..she is so picky....I am going to give it to family members with Dogs.

    Great for picky eaters

    By on

My dog isn't a picky eater by choice; she has major food sensitivities to all kinds of poultry. I rotate her proteins so she doesn't develop more sensitivities, but do you know how hard it is to find a dog food that doesn't mix chicken or turkey in with its main protein (looking at you Blue Buffalo)? She eats beef and venison willingly and lamb and rabbit more reluctantly, but absolutely adores tuna. It's not cheap, but FirstMate's Tuna is a quality, limited-ingredient food that my dog goes wild for.

    Absolutely TOP quality!

    By on

Best quality. Not fatty. No sticky guar gumminess. Top quality. Looks good, smells good, dog loves. I feel good feeding this to my dog. Once you open the can and see for yourself! I will try all Firstmate varieties soon. Will only feed this, once we finish up or donate the gummy crap we have in the cupboard. By far, hands down, the best dog food I’ve found. LIMITED INGREDIENTS! Highly recommend you try. I only add wet/canned at evening feeding to his kibble. Last a good long time for me. However still a puppy. This will be my ONLY add on canned food soon! Thank you FirstMate!

    Very Good Tuna Dog Food

    By on

Seems to be an excellent quality, limited ingredient dog food. I tried this for my GSD with food allergies. She loved it! Had to call the company in Canada (where this is made). Found them to be very, very nice people who seem to care a great deal about their products and our pets we feed these products to. Will order again!

    Great ingredients/texture

    By on

I picked this food because the ingredients are great, no junk and high quality. I use canned food to mix in with my dogs' dry food and this has a perfect texture for that. It is a soft pate but isn't too watery. I wouldn't use it as a primary food since albacore tuna has a higher mercury content than smaller tunas. My dogs love the taste and it's a unique protein since I rotate their food.
