Great Feeder - 4th One I have bought

    By on

This feeder is simply great. It works as it should. I raise Koi and it works all season feeding 3x - day. I have suggestions for the Fish Mate Corp - Make a feeder with about twice the capacity and a more clear hopper so we can see the amount of food left at a distance. Make the top out of aluminum, with better clips. Sunlight eventually destroys the top, and the current ear clips get brittle and break off. Or at least sell replacement tops. Other than that.. it works great. I love it, and the fish tell me THEY LOVE IT. They know about 10 minutes before each feeding (yes, fish know time) and start gathering around. Got this replacement in 2 days after I ordered it. Amazing service.

Expensive for it's not so easy set up

    By on

Setting up the times the first time is not so bad. When you lock in the set times then unlock to correct them its challenging. I wouldn't recommend this particular one for the price they are charging. I've had a cheaper one that was much better to set up and correct, but wasn't manufactured for the weather very well.

    Happy Fish

    By on

The fish feeder worked great while we were away. The program setup is a little tricky but not bad. It's a good idea to test the feeder first (before going away). I found I needed to adjust the amount of food being dispensed. A slight complaint is that it is all plastic. Oh well...

Not Bad, But Takes a While to Learn

    By on

In June, a couple of years ago, I bought a house that included a large koi pond with 13 koi and a Fish Mate feeder. When the temperature dropped below 50°F, I turned it off, as the previous owner had instructed me. The next Spring, I turned it back on, following the manual. The manual is written with lots of conditionals, so it's difficult to follow. Eventually, I figured it out and got it working fine, with just one morning feeding and one early evening feeding. Last year I went through the whole process again, and had forgotten most of what I'd learned the first time. So I went through the manual, extracted the steps specific to my situation, and printed out a cheat sheet. So I went through the manual, extracted the steps specific to my situation, and printed out a cheat sheet. This year, I was ready to go, but the Fish Mate wasn't. I don't know how old it was, but the control panel was hard to read when I started with it, because the clear plastic was frosted from exposure to the sun. As I started to reprogram it, the plastic over the buttons cracked and split open. So, I've bought another one. I had no problem programming it, it's working well so far, and I plan to make an opaque cover of some kind to protect the control panel from the sun. … more

    Exactly what I needed!

    By on

We have a 2,500 gallon pond with Koi and goldfish and I was looking for a feeder that could handle a schedule of 30 days feeding twice a day. This feeder checks all of the boxes for me. I've been running it for 9 days now on two cycles per day and it has performed perfectly. Based on other reviews I was concerned about it dispensing food during rainy weather but there have been no issues with the pellets swelling due to humidity or moisture after on and off rain showers and cool nights for the past week. We received it in only 3 days after ordering. Great purchase!

    Well design machine

East to install. Large capacity for koi food. Just need to cover it with a bucket or a box because it is outside.
