Description

Fleabusters RX for Fleas Plus Powder offers professional-strength flea protection in a do-it-yourself form. Using a statically-charged powder that is milled to be extremely fine, it’s easily installed by lightly sprinkling over carpets and furniture. The microscopic crystals then cling to the fibers and resist being sucked up by the vacuum, thus providing flea protection for an entire year. It works by clinging to the larvae as they pass by and dehydrating them, and is totally safe for pets and people. And because you only need a light coating, a single three-pound canister can treat up to five rooms in your house.

Key Benefits
  • Provides do-it-yourself, spray-free flea treatment that remains effective for up to one year.
  • Statically-charged powder clings to carpet and furniture fibers for long-lasting protection.
  • Neutral pH of 7.0 means larvae will not be repelled, and dehydrates them as they pass through the fibers.
  • Has both federal and state EPA registration and is safe for pets and humans.
  • One 3-pound canister covers up to 900 square feet or 5 rooms. All it takes is a light coating!

  • Tilt container carefully as powder will flow freely. Treat one room at a time. Sprinkle powder lightly over all carpeted areas, including closet floors and under furniture. Pay special attention to your pets' favorite resting and walking areas. Treat the baseboard areas of all non carpeted rooms.
  • Slowly brush powder into carpet with a push broom. Brush in one direction to evenly distribute powder. Then, use a slow back and forth motion until no visible powder remains.
  • Remove cushions from furniture. Sprinkle powder very lightly into wells only. Work powder deep into wells with a hand brush until powder disappears. Remove any excess powder from furniture. It is recommended that dust-sensitive individuals not be present during treatment.
  • Any powder that does not brush in completely must be vacuumed immediately. You may resume normal vacuuming 24-48 hours following application.
  • Depending on the level of infestation, you may see residual flea activity for 2-6 weeks following application. If such activity occurs, more frequent vacuuming is recommended.
  • Remove bags from vacuum cleaner immediately after vacuuming and dispose of bags.
  • Reapplication is necessary following cleaning of treated carpets and/or rugs.
  • Homes without carpeting - RX for Fleas Plus powder should be applied to baseboard areas (cracks and crevices), as well as furniture and area rugs.

    End Home Flea Problems

    By on

The basic answer is: Yes! With a little effort 1 year 100% success. No need for extra flea protection... the powder (on flea's "skin") rubs onto other fleas & eggs (before it dies) as they make contact. I will explain my procedure which worked for the whole year. Explained by my vet. PLEASE wear a good dust mask and eye wear when you quickly "broom" the powder into floor (see below). "Sweeping" is worth it, believe me please. I learned about this product (boric acid) years ago ('90s) from my vet, she sold it. I was so frustrated in my home, dog and cat, both indoor/ outdoor, from fleas. I saw few jump on my legs and that was it! I decided to try this powder as she said: > sprinkle The basic answer is: Yes! With a little effort 1 year 100% success. I learned about this product (boric acid) years ago ('90s) from my vet, she sold it. I was so frustrated in my home, dog and cat, both indoor/ outdoor, from fleas. I saw few jump on my legs and that was it! I decided to try this powder as she said: > sprinkle lightly over all floors: carpet, hardwood floors, vinyl, concrete etc... next use a broom (Please use mask and eye cover/ dust will float up & settle within an hour (have others leave room!)/ cover eating areas).. now sweep into floors, make sure sweep into the edges along walls, doorways, even closets -fleas love edges. It is safe to lightly sprinkle onto drapes, no sweeping. I did not put any on my bedding. Let dust settle. After settling you can walk in room. Vacuum later... > After sweeping into flooring, leave a day or so, use room as normal after dust settles on carpet, then vacuum ALL areas (not drapes). Yes, vacuum ALL areas up. Won't vacuuming floors remove the powder? No... Even tho you vacuum floor, the powder has already attached tightly into the micro fibers & pores of floor. It will NOT come up easily, even for a year. Probably a professional carpet cleaner can remove the powder, but vacuum will not. It will not float into the air (after vacuum application). This is the best part... for a full year or more any fleas that come in contact with the floor, not only die, they will carry the powder on their "skin" and transfer to other fleas/eggs/larva via contact. In other words, till the flea dies it will spread the powder along each hair and other fleas. One speck of powder will kill fleas. Within one month my home AND my animals were flea and tick free: without any other topical or flea collars. Any fleas that came into the home somehow came into contact with the powder and were dead very soon. This product does take a bit of work. Yes, I admit that. Be willing. It is worth it in long run, much more effective than any other flea prevention (even insect prevention) that is on the market. I am not any kind of "paid" or whatever kind of reviewer. Just a fellow animal owner. But the work you put into it is once a year and takes about 1-2 hours. But after about a month you will not need any other flea "prevention". (Without the "sweeping" part, it may work for awhile, maybe not the full year). Lastly, BTW, this item will get rid of roaches and other insects. If you live in humid areas like Houston, TX you know what I mean ;-) Remove items from kitchen and cover eating areas. Then very lightly spread this powder into the crevices of the cupboards (along the edges only) and along floor edges or over floor if you want. Along the edges of wall where you eat. Wear gloves and sorta push powder into edges more. Then vacuum up. Roaches & Insects ALL GONE. I hope this extra description helps. Ok that's about it. I hope you will give it a try, even tho there is some effort involved (that is what I did as vet explained) It lowers the cost of buying all the extra (expensive) flea topicals and collars (really!). … more

I spent over 1000 on flea stuff. Only thing that worked was flea busters

    By on

We lived in an old house, carpet throughout. We only had one dog, no cat going in and out. They were everywhere. I paid hydrox pest control paid for inside and out for a year. Did not make a dent. I bought over 100.00 in zodiac bombs. After staying away from the house for the whole day and night. There were literally fleas still alive jumping right around where the bombs were. I found flea busters I had them come in and do it the first time so I can see how it was done. It was the only thing that worked. In fact I never had to do it again. I don’t think my dog was bringing them in from the yard. I believe the house was infested when we moved in. I only do it once a year and I’ve never found another flea. One of my dogs has seizures so he can’t eat the chew, are use the stuff that you put on there neck, same with the cat that we now have. He is an indoor outdoor cat and I still have no problems with fleas … more

Must have for fleas in home

I treated my house with Fleabusters several years ago when all my indoor cats somehow go fleas. It worked like a charm. I just had to do it all again last week because once again I found fleas on my indoor cats. Yes, it is a LOT of work to apply depending on the size of your house (moving furniture, sweeping it into carpets and baseboards), but it works for up to a year. Of course, you have to treat the cats too to kill the living fleas, which I did. I also washed in hot water all the cat beds and blankets then vacuumed all the furniture and treated under the cushions. If you treat your house thoroughly, and apply a topical flea killer to your pets, you will get rid of the fleas. My only complaint, and this is minor, is the way the container is designed. The lid in particular doesn't always go on facing the proper direction, making the canister hard to hold. Also, the holes in the top are huge, so it has a tendency to come out very fast, so be careful when sprinkling. I also use the Fleabusters nematodes in my yard which are sold on their website. Great stuff! And, as usual, Chewy is awesome! … more

    Didn’t quite do the job

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I used this product as recommended, but the following day, still had fleas sitting on top of the powder! Wish I wouldn’t have bought this and just stuck with the cheaper, diatomaceous earth (which I believe is more effective). Don’t waste your money here.

    It Worked!

    By on

Considered fumigating but this was a lot less intrusive. I just recommended it to a neighbor on Nextdoor after they reported flea issues. Works w/ a combo of yard spray to take care of recurring flea issues.

    Somewhat Satisfied

    By on

We had gotten flea busters in the past and it took care of the problem within a week. This time a week has past and I don't see any results. I used it the exact same way as last time but it did not work the same.

    Not so hot

    By on

The information given in the description leads one to believe that you just sprinkle this stuff on your carpet and the fleas die within an hour or so. What it doesn't say is that you either have to use a carpet rake or a broom to get it deep in your carpet so it will work. I wouldn't have spent $35 on something like this if I would have known about that. I still have to put out flesh bombs to kill the active fleas and this crap doesn't work as well as it claims it does. I would like a refund of the money I paid for it because it just doesn't work like it claims it will.
