The grip area is too small. My husband can only fit four fingers around the leash. For now it's fine because our rat terrier is elderly. However we have another rat terrier pup coming and my husband will need to be able to have a solid grip on the leash until the pup can be trained.
I have a Labrador who gets easily excited and sometimes when we walk and he sees a squirrel or something he torpedoes off. Well, a couple of days ago I was distracted with picking up his poop and didn't notice that the leash cord got around my leg. My dog saw a squirrel and took off after it as I was still holding the handle. The leash cord cut through my leg like some kind of torture machine, it hurt a lot and I will most definitely NEVER EVER use it again.
I thought when it said small that it meant it was for a small dog not for a small hand. I used it once and I can’t use again.
I definitely should have read the reviews before purchasing. The opening is TINY. I cannot fit my hand in the opening and therefore have to leave a finger dangling out. I fear that my dog will get excited and bolt and rip it right out of my hand b/c I can't get a good, secure grip on it.
I both this i though will work So very small in my hand doesn't fit so I had to give away
I have bought leash after leash, many more expensive than this one. My 80 lb lab has the bad habit of chewing on the leash during our walks and eventually chews through them. His bad habit has not changed and I've had this leash for 6 months and he has yet to chew through it. It doesn't even look like he's been doing this. My new leash for life!
Handle too tiny. Definitely not a good choice for my beagle. Maybe a very tiny dog.
This leash is nice for my small Pomeranian puppy. The cord is not too long. I love everything I ever purchase from Chewy.
Love this new leash. It’s light weight and fits great into the hand
Seems cheap and it feels like the buttons operate a simple gear that is prone to locking up, but with that said, its good for the price and for smaller dogs (as in, under 20lbs). Great for time in the park or at kids' games where they need to roam a bit, but need to be leashed. Extends, but not very far. Good for sporting events where I don't want my dog to wander too far and interact with unwanted strangers, but want to give them a nice extra radius a normal walking leash can't. Is prone to wrapping/tripping the dog (or owner), but I think that is to be expected with retractable leashes. Works best with a harness so it doesn't tangle too much.
