Fluconazole is an antifungal medication prescribed for the treatment of serious fungal infections that affect multiple body systems, including the central nervous system. It may also be prescribed to treat yeast infections and ringworm. Customers may receive this drug under the name Diflucan.
Fluconazole is indicated in the treatment of significant fungal infections.
Possible Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effect is the loss of appetite. Other less frequent side effects could include vomiting, jaundice (yellowing of gums, skin, eyes), lethargy, or skin rash.
Drug & Food Interactions
Interactions have been reported when Fluconazole is given with some anticoagulants, amphotericin B, rifampin, phenytoin, cyclosporine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and steroids.
Do not give this medication to pets who have known allergies to it or similar medications. Pets who are pregnant and/or lactating or who suffer from liver disease should not be given Fluconazole. Caution should also be used when giving this medication to pets with kidney disease.
