    Warm Bunnies

I chose the Fluker's Heat Emitter over a heat lamp for safety reasons. It is used in a pen for two domestic mini bunnies who were abandoned in my garden and rescued at death's door. It is used in a pen for two domestic mini bunnies who were abandoned in my garden and rescued at death's door. The vet was prepared to euthanize one. I nursed them back over several weeks and now they are flourishing in a pen in my laundry room. They spend most time out of their little teepee house under the heat emitter on a cushion of baby quilts. It gives me such joy to see them healthy, warm and happy. While the Fluker emitter now being used has had a long life, I bought two emitters in last purchase to be sure I have one at hand at all times as winter approaches. The projection is that we are in for an unusually cold winter in Maine. Thanks, Chewy, for helping me keep these sweet bunnies warm and safe. … more

The bulb only emits heat about 3 inches so it didn't keep my hedgehog warm at all but on top of the bulb not emitting heat it arrived broken. The top part of the bulb (metal piece that screws into the lamp) looked like it had just been glued together but not very good because as soon as I took it out of the box it was starting to fall apart, I went ahead and tried to screw it into the lamp because it seemed like a pretty easy fix so if it worked I would have kept it and tried to fix it myself. But, it didn't work and the return process seemed to take forever so I ended up just keeping the bulb and the clamp lamp and threw them away. Wasn't worth the money. … more

I have an Afican Sucata that lives outside and sleeps in a large dog house which has 2 of these heaters controlled by a thermostat. This system works exceptionally well and keeps his house at 70° year round. I would be giving 5 stars but one of the heaters came with damaged threads which cannot be used and due to the price is not worth my time or effort to return.

  • Good to have a backup.

This came in handy when one of my hedgehogs CHE went out in the middle of winter. This is a lower wattage but still works fine.
