  • Fluker’s River Shrimp? Hermit crab caviar!

    By on

I recently acquired a hermit crab from a vendor that had no knowledge of hermits or their care. After reading about them, doing everything right, she still ate only tiny bits of feed about every 4 days. I opened the can of River Shrimp last evening...of course my cats went nuts just anticipating a treat, but I put 5 of the tiny, wet, pink shrimp on the edge of Claw- Deea’s feeding shell, and she IMMEDIATELY crawled out of her hut and went to the bowl. I went to bed, and when I looked in her habitat 6 1/2 hours later, all the shrimp were eaten, as was the bee pollen, chia seed & dried kelp powder the shrimp laid on. I was so afraid she’d never find a food she liked. Fluker’s products in general I recently acquired a hermit crab from a vendor that had no knowledge of hermits or their care. • Smelly Lil' Shrimp

    By on

I wasn't paying attention when I reupped my hermit crab proteins. As I popped the can, a splash of juicy stinky shrimp water doused my shirt; the scent of canned river crustaceans brought all my cats to the room. My hermit crabs (over 20 rescues) attacked these voraciously, leaving no spare bit of carapace behind. While I typically don't order wet shrimp or insects for my crabs, I must say that mine seemed to enjoy these lil' snackie bois.

Nobody would eat these. They did smell sort of funky. Not fishy just strange.

  • River shrimp hog

One of my three hermit crabs absolutely loves this product. He stays by the food bowl and shoves the other crabs away. I can't speak for the other two crabs.

  • Not liked very much

    By on

My hermit crabs didn’t seem to even touch the shrimp. I thought they would love it because they like the dried river shrimp; however, they couldn’t have cared less! On top of that it spoiled to quickly....On the other hand, it was packed pretty full for an amazing price (if it is eaten)!

  • Hermit Crabs not interested

Our hermit crabs barely touch the shrimp. I thought they would be happy for something new to eat but they past right over the shrimp and continued to eat their regular food.

  • Crabs Went Crazy Over These!

    By on

Us crab owners know that sometimes, crabs can be picky. Mine don't generally like dry pellets and food blends, so I usually give them scraps of my food, like bread and fruit. And they'll nibble from time to time, but never gorge themselves. I put these in their fresh tank yesterday, and they started eating them almost instantly! When I looked this morning, they had already eaten everything I had given them! That's never happened before. I think this will be their new staple diet. Since it needs to be refrigerated, I'm just keeping the crabs' feeding shells in the kitchen, and fill one up and take it to them whenever it's needed. Not really any more trouble than regular crab food. And the Us crab owners know that sometimes, crabs can be picky.
