No complaints! Works well so far for my tank. Has not burnout right away like other bulbs I have bought.

hasn't burn out yet, but tortoise doesn't like it

By Kate on Dec 25, 2020

This has been the only bulb lately I've been able to get to work. I've gone through 4 Powersuns and 1 MegaRay in the last couple months, with each either failing to turn on, or burning out within 1-2 weeks. No clue what the issue is, and hoping its just a bad batch of Powersuns and maybe shipping damage This has been the only bulb lately I've been able to get to work. No clue what the issue is, and hoping its just a bad batch of Powersuns and maybe shipping damage on the MegaRay which wouldn't even turn on. I've had the same setup I've had for years, with 2 verified to work large diameter domes with high capability ceramic sockets mounted parallel to the enclosure substrate. This bulb puts off an odd yellow-green light, and is a larger size than the other MVBs I've used. Even worse, I haven't seen my tortoise bask under it - he has been sticking under his other light fixture which has a very old Powersun which probably isn't putting off UVB any more (I usually replace the oldest one every 6-12 months). I'm not very confident in this bulb with the low price, poor reviews, and my tortoise's reaction, but it'll have to do until I can get something better to work. Thankfully Chewy is awesome and replaced the 2 failed Powersuns, and I just contacted them again about the 2 failed replacements. … more

    Waste of money

Had this bulb not even a month and it stopped working. Costs too much for this to happen. Won't be buying this again.

    Worked for 5 minutes

    By on

I turned it on for less than 5 minutes to see if it worked. I tried to turn it on later, after waiting over an hour, and it's dead already.

FINALLY ONE THAT HASN'T BLOWN OUT

    By on

I went through 3 bulbs this year and my aquatic turtles went a few weeks without proper lighting due to bad bulbs being distributed and due to my lack of research. I took the time to find the correct setup for their lighting and this is it! I've been using this bulb for over a week and it hasn't blown out. Many complain about bulbs blowing out when there's a high chance it's because of them. I had my tank in my room on the second floor and when I would walk small vibrations would move the tank a bit which would move the lighting fixture. If you've been experiencing the same problems you likely need to move your tank to the basement where if you walk or jump the tank shouldn't move an inch. Malfunctional

    By on

I used this lamp on a hood with a dimmer. Even at 25% power, the bulb starts pulsing because of the heat mechanism that shuts itself off. I tried it at 100% power, and it lasted about 10 seconds before it itself off. It also makes a really terrible electric sound that none of my other bulbs have made before. I do not blame Chewy for this, I just think I got a malfunctioning bulb from Fluker's. I feel like I just wasted $30....

Perfect for my 2 yr old Sulcata's Winter home

    By on

Once the temps drop to 60 & below it's time for out Sulcata tortoise to cone inside for the Winter..So we have to do our best to mimic mother nature inside to accommodate our shelled family member. This is our first year using this brand of bulb and from what we can tell it's doing the job perfectly at a fraction of the price of the other brand we had been using. Plus it was delivered to our door from Chewy.com

    Does Not Last Long

    By on

I received my bulb on the 25th & immediately put it in my Fluker’s lamp for my 3 turtles. I’ve been leaving it on for maybe 8 hours at a time, like it do with every bulb I use. However I noticed today (the 29th) when I turned it on, it flickered blue before it was its regular color. I thought it was weird, but went about my day. Not even two hours later, the bulb was dead. Not at all pleased that for the second time this month, I have to buy a brand new bulb for my turtles. Even more displeased that it didn’t even last 4 days. Very disappointed in Fluker’s brand. Especially since Chewy was kind enough to work with me when I was initially sent the 60 watt instead of the 100.
