Terrible side effects
This was prescribed by my vet for my cat who began spraying all over my house. He experienced terrible side effects and became so lethargic he barely moved. I reduced the dosage myself and his activity level became better but the side effects continued. I finally took him off of it 10 days ago but the side effects continue still. NOT recommended.

Lifesaver for my cat
My cat was spraying everywhere. We tried everything to get him to stop. He immediately stopped once we put him on this. He takes half a tablet every morning. I put it in a feline pill pocket and put it in his food. He takes it without any problems. My vet only carried the liquid form which was a pain to give my cat.

wish they were chewable
This is my first order for my one cat and she only has to take a 1/4 of this pill. Cutting them in half is okay, but cutting them in quarters is not. Trying to find a soft chewy treat that I can put the pill in is not an easy task. She sometimes takes it and sometimes not. I wish these came in chewable form; in fact I think all pills for all animals should be a chewable and not a pill. So much $ spent, but at the same time too much is wasted.

Definitely an Improvement!
We rescued our Fur Kid from a shelter that takes in older dogs, we notice right away that she did not like to be left alone, we came home to a knocked down trash can, trash scattered in the kitchen and even dragged out onto her pad, all done by an 12yr old 8lb poodle! The Vet recommended Fluoxetine, in we see the change, but It does make her drowsy and have lack of energy, in which until recently we have decided to reduce it to every other day, just to see if she gets the pep in her step back with out the major howling and barking she use to do when left alone.

Helped my anxious, traumatized mix
My girl came to me after weeks of trauma with her previous owner. Not only had she been neglected, she required a highly invasive surgery to save her life. After she healed, she had continued issues due to anxiety who only made her health issues more difficult to manage. She was fairly calm deapite all this but had separation anxiety which would make her poop all over her cage when left alone. The problem was that after an accident within our household, she became extremely fearful of noise in or around the house and could not leave the house for vet visits or play dates without panicking and freezing up. She could even to go potty outside! She would shake, sleep very little, was pottying in the house, and could not handle being left unattended. After a few months of this medication, she has returned to her friendly, outgoing, cuddly, confident self. This med does not mess with her sensitive stomach and there have been no side effects at all, something we were very cautious about due to her congenital heart condition that could easily destabilize.
A QUICK NOTE! This medication requires at least 4 weeks to see an effect, but it took 8 weeks before my dog was finally back to normal, so keep that in mind when starting it.
