Possible Side Effects
Brief burning and stinging upon application and other minor symptoms of eye irritation have been reported with the use of flurbiprofen. May increase pressure in the eye. If the pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your vet immediately.
Drug & Food Interactions
Consult your veterinarian before using flurbiprofen with any other medications, including vitamins and supplements, since interactions may occur.
Topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may slow or delay healing. Related use of topical NSAIDs and topical steroids may increase the potential for healing problems.
This drug is FDA-approved for human use. However, it is common practice for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in dogs and cats.
