    complete trash.

By Matt on Jan 28, 2021

This thing lasted 2-3 months in my turtle tank. It broke because the knob on top that go left and right to adjust the temp broke. Now it’s stuck on 75. Not worth the insane amount of money for this. I’ll stick with my 18$ heaters that last years.

    Unreliable

By Jess on Jul 14, 2020

Sent me a replacement as the first one was a dud. This one only lasted technically 4 months as I had to tear down the tank for 51 days due to basement flood and when I restarted the heater.... it never was able to make its mind up. Am done with this series!

    works great!

By Cory on Jan 31, 2020

So I’ve had 2 of this heaters for about 6 months now and it’s the best heater I’ve ever bought. I have 2 in a 150 gallon turtle tank and it heats the water to 80 degrees I’ve read a lot of reviews saying it just blinks or doesn’t heat well part of its system senses water movement and if it doesn’t feel the water moving in the tank it won’t heat. So if you are concerned buying it based on other reviews just have the heater placed by your filter where there is for sure water movement and it will work perfect. I had the same blinking red light issue with mine where it would just blink red and not heat the water then once it was moved next to a spot with water movement they have works flawlessly. Thumbs down

By Jane on Feb 28, 2020

These are 300 watt heaters that should be more than plenty of watts to heat a 40 gallon tank. They would not heat above 77 degrees. I have hypancistrus plecos that love the heat around 82. I followed all the directions properly and they just didn't work. The people at Chewy were great about the return-as always. They have the best customer service period.

    Terrible...

    By Ness1966 on Feb 14, 2020

I bought the 300 for a 20 gallon tank, heater only heats to 82 degrees and temperature is constantly changing..... would not recommend. I bought the bigger heater specifically to treat a tank with ich. All my fish have died. Very upset.

Not really for 100 gallon aquarium

By Terrible on Jan 20, 2020

Won’t heat past 73, most cases not a problem but I have turtles that need 76 degrees. It’s supposed to heat a 100 gallon but won’t heat my 60 gallon properly

    Not Reliable

By ryanrut on Oct 23, 2019

I purchased two of these for my two larger aquariums. Both arrived and are defective. Both turn on but one only shows the temperature and that it’s below the set temperature. The heating element doesn’t function and therefore it’s just functioning as a very expensive thermometer. The other seems to not heating at full capacity. The temperature is set to 80 but can’t get the water above 78. These both replaced existing as I liked the visual indicator for peace of mind but have had to go back to my older functioning 300W heaters. Very disappointed with this purchase.
