I was worried the food wouldn't be tasty to my dog but she seems to like it a lot. Hard to tell if it super helps with her anxiety/high strung personality but I still feel better about giving her a food with so many potentially beneficial herbs and calming ingredients over any other kind of kibble.
I was skeptical this would help, but I saw a huge difference in just a few days. If you have a dog with any behavioral issues, give this food a try
My dog wouldn't eat it. We put a "gravy" on it to make it more appealing. He licked the gravy off then spit it out.
I am already a huge fan of Forza 10 products, and this one delivers also! I have a greyhound who pants, shakes and paces with thunderstorms and even the sound of rain. She is barometric pressure-sensitive and comes to me before a storm starts. I've tried so many natural remedies, along with Xanax, and she just still struggles. One of the big problems is trying to get something in her that can work fast enough, because storms come up so quickly. So I thought having a maintenance kibble like this might help. It did! We just went through a week of rain and storms, and she did not exhibit ANY of the anxiety symptoms! I cannot say at this time how she would react to thunder, as we only had rain. I cannot believe the change in her, and others have noticed also. I would describe this kibble as, "taking the edge off of daily anxiety." I would think this could help with separation anxiety, too. The kibble is high quality, and even her coat looks shinier! I highly recommend this kibble and will be using it for my girl as a maintenance kibble. Forza 10 products ROCK!!!
We have two dogs, one is a sheepadoodle who gets anxious and neurotic, and the other is a rescued mix who gets anxious and barks. We decided to try this even though it is on the expensive side to see if it would help either or both of them. I can say they both love the taste of this food, and the rescue is very picky so they does say a lot. I used this food for the last 6 months and have not seen any change in behavior. I am going to switch to a less expensive type of food at this point.
My dog was part of the clinical trial for this product before it came out. We love this food! Obviously, it does not solve or fix any behavioral issues- but it takes the edge off and helps to keep him relaxed.
Imported from Italy, didn’t realize that. My dog would barely eat this. I had to add beef broth or other things to get him to eat this food. I ordered another calming prescription dogfood from Chewy, arrived yesterday & my dog gobbled up dry! He loved it!
I have been using this product for a year now and found it as part of a quest for a 360 degree approach to dealing with my dog's behavior issues (fear, aggression, stress). As humans, we put such emphasis on what we eat and how it affects our mood, brain and happiness, so I was surprised to find only two dog foods on the market labeled as "calming" or behavioral related recipes. One is a prescription and only comes in small bags (Royal C), so I decided to go with this one (big dog = more food) and happily so, as it also has clinical studies and trials to back it up and was developed by vets. It worked out to be about the same price as the Rx brand. And my vet, with a rare PhD in dog behavior psychology, looked over the ingredients and gave me the green light to try it (she had not heard of it, only the Royal C Rx). Does it work? I believe so, but I also implemented several other new things at the same time so I can't isolate the results to the food. But with such good ingredients, I can't doubt that this is a part of the results. I'd rather pay more for this food than add the cost of calming supplements to a "regular" food, but that's just me (L-tryptophan, lavender, fish oils, etc). Most people say their dogs don't always like the heart shaped pieces blended in the bag, but I think they recently changed the formula and I'm finding less of those left in his bowl.
