    Tie Out Stake

By Daniel on Sep 10, 2021

Best tie out stake ever. I have a German Shepherd that either bent or pulled out all of the cork screw style stakes. I have had this is the ground for over a week with no problems.

    If your dog is strong...

    By SouthernTater on May 16, 2020 top100Contributor

To secure this stake into the ground so almost no dog can budge it, install this like you are setting a fence post. Dig a 36 inch deep, by 18 inch wide hole, pour in a bag of "Quickcrete Concrete", add water, use this stake to mix/penetrate the water into the concrete mix (Quickcrete begins to harden in 20 minutes, so don't delay) and insert this stake fully into the concrete. You might find yourself sitting there for 10 or 15 minutes holding this stake in place waiting for the Quickcrete to firm up enough around the stake before you can let go of it, but once it is set, you only have to allow the stake to rest (without holding, of course) an additional 24 hours and the concrete mix will be hardened To secure this stake into the ground so almost no dog can budge it, install this like you are setting a fence post. Just passing along a tip I learned from owning mastiff dogs on a horse farm. This worked so good for me on that farm, that I'm now ordering one of these for the front of my new house in the suburbs (and setting it in Quickcrete concrete) so my dog can enjoy spending time - safely tethered on a heavy 20 foot cable leash - visiting with neighbors walking by, and lounging, whilst I do yard work in the front of my house. He gets so forlorn watching me through the window when I'm tending my front yard and chatting with neighbors, so I'm very excited to get another one of these stakes set up so he can safely join me. Remember to never leave any dog tied out unattended, or without access to clean drinking water, or shade, for any amount of time. … more

Rated for under 100lbs—not for large/giant breeds

By MJones on Sep 5, 2019

I purchased this for my 120lb+ Rottweiler, as it was listed under giant breeds. I didn’t see any mention any weight limit in the product description or in the images of the packaging. However, on the package I received, it boldly displays “for dogs under 100lbs.” I already called and got my money back (Alex with chewy support ftw), but wanted to post for anyone with a large dog that might be considering it. I would suggest Chewy add in weight ranges as a filter option and include it in their product descriptions for anything that might need to depend on the weight of the dog. The breed size filter also needs to take weight into consideration.

    Heavy duty

By TTJOHNSON on Jun 30, 2019

Although it's a slight pain getting it all the way down into the ground, this tie out is a beast! Our rambunctious, 95lb bloodhound can't budge it. We had removed the tie out cable & while mowing, we hit it with the mower blade.. mower blade may have bit the dust, but this thing held firm & had only a scratch. Definitely recommend.

Holds Strong and Last a Long Time

By McPack on May 29, 2019

We purchased this 5 years ago to use in our open backyard with 3 dogs (75lbs, 65lbs, 20lbs). We live in South Florida, so our soil is very sandy. This stake has held up amazingly! Never pulled out of the ground. It only got messed up when our lawn service hit it with their riding lawn mower...and it is still doing its job until our new one arrives. My only complaint is that the tethers get tangled sometimes, but we do have 3 leads on it - so that s bound to happen. If there was only 1 dog on it, I don't see that ever happening. 5/5 - highly recommend!

    Stake for stay

By Gems on Jun 22, 2019

Great stake for keeping your pup in the yard while you're there. A little hard to twist all the way down, however, I put it in halfway and it works fine. Makes it easier to relocate that way.
