Good for allergies, doesn't make a huge mess!
I think this is a great litter for all cats, but especially for those with allergies!!! My cat isn't super picky about her litter, but she does seem to really like this one. It's completely unscented, but really holds in odors. I scoop her litter box anywhere from 1-3 days and it never smells!! Great clumping and easy to scoop and dispose of waste. I wouldn't call it dust-free, but it's much better than others I've tried and it doesn't stick to my cats paws as much. Would definitely recommend for all cat owners!!
Not dust free at all
I typically use the Arm and Hammer clump and seal which is absolutely dust free but thought I would try this one out as the other one tracks a lot of litter all over the house. As soon as I poured the litter into the pan a big cloud of dust poofed out and I coughed. When I scoop it, there is also a cloud of dust. I will say it tracks less litter but I'd rather have my kitties not breathe in dust when they potty and just deal with the tracks. Three stars for minimal tracking but NOT dust free.
Has scent AND DUST
I thought I would try this litter, as my preferred litter can get pricey. Pros: Cats happily use it; it is in one of the two boxes they use most. Reasonably priced. Cons: This litter is very dusty in all purchased boxes I've used. 99.9% dust free seems optimistic. It also has a scent, not overpowering, but more than my other clay clumping unscented litters. The box is very sturdy, which means cutting it open to dump full boxes is not easy. But, no spilled litter in transit
Does what it says!
Clumps good. No dust, no scent. Tracks slightly but no worse than any other litter. I like that the box is sturdy and the built in handle makes it easier to pick up and pour.
My furry girls love it!
I have tried so many litters and this one doesn’t track beyond the area of the litter box. There is dust but I have yet to find a litter that is completely dust free. With two cats, tracking was a huge issue but not anymore.
Low odor control
I’ve used a lot of litter and normally fresh step is my go-to, but this litter doesn’t seem to contain the odor, and it crumbles into little unscoopable pieces way too often. I’ve had to change the litter more than once a week so my cat doesn’t turn up his nose at the litter box. At least I’m using up this litter quickly so I can get a better type, but I’m very disappointed. It’s also quite heavy and seems to hurt my cat’s paws.
After my go to clean paws was out of stock I was looking for something else that low tracking. This is definitely NOT that product. The tracking is horrible. It's small clay rocks so it gets stuck in their foot pads and it is all over the house. I highly DO NOT recommend this litter.
1.5 year search for the best litter, and this is it
I got two kittens in 2020 and started them on Dr. Elsey Kitten Attract which was amazing for clumping. When they became adults, I thought Dr. Elsey Ultra would be on par, but sadly it was not. Since then, I have been on the hunt for the best litter, specifically for clumping. I have tried: Arm & Hammer (multicat original, cloud control, absorbX, clump and seal slide), Okocat, Tidy cats unscented, Elsey multicat and ultra. I also have tried combining litters to see if there was some magic combination, but no. Fresh step advanced is by bar the BEST at forming distinct clumps that don't cement to the bottom of the box, and as long as you clean every couple of days the clumps don't crumble apart with the scooper. It is slightly dusty, but most clay litters are. My only big gripe with it is that it says "unscented" but there definitely is a slight scent to it. Not nearly as potent as a true scented litter, but my preference would be a completely scent-free litter. I am currently testing out how a combo of half Fresh Step Advanced + half Elsey's Ultra does. My hope is to cut the scent in half and save some money cause Elsey Ultra is still cheaper! But this is an excellent and affordable option, and I hope to God they don't change their formula like I know so many other litters have.
Definitely not low dust and smell doesn't stick
This was a surprise--my usual litter was out of stock so I substituted with this one. I thought it would be fine since it's also Fresh Step and this specifically said it was 99.9% dust free. But when I carefully emptied this into the litter box, there was a huge dust cloud coming from the litter box. I have a pretty sneezy boy, so that had me pretty worried. Then, less than a week after I changed out the sand to this, the box was unbearably stinky after only one day. Usually I have about 2-3 days before it gets that bad. Not sure what's going on with this formula, but I hope that was just a bad batch.
Good cat litter
Great stuff, not problem here. Nice to get it delivered from chewy so I don’t have to carry it home
