It's Ok, a good choice overall
Kitty litter these days leaves a lot to be desired, I think I have tried them all. This one is good, Not great, they never are, but it is low tracking so bonus points there. It clumps and controls odors, yes good. It lasts a decent amount of time. My only complaints here is, while it is better than most with dust, it is still quite dusty. And my other complaint is that for unscented it has a scent. It is not bad and not super strong, but is not unscented. I will probably stick with this, I was happier with World's Best Cat Litter - Low Tracking, however one of my cats likes to eat it when it is fresh, yes he eats the corn based litter, usually makes him throw up. So I stopped getting it. World's best is better on dust and is no scent, that one breaks down a little quicker and you need a wider slot scoop than normal to clean it. All things considered I will be sticking with this one going forward. FYI all the Arm & Hammer and Dr Elsey's respiritory health blend are way too dusty just letting you know. Tidy Cats is decent, but also dusty and it tracks everywhere. Newspaper pellets, my cats will not use it, they don't like the litter pellets I'm assuming. The Blue and White crystal litters, are ok, some cats don't like the texture there as well, and it definitely hits a point where it is done and needs to be completely changed out because the crystals breakdown, maybe at about 2.5-3weeks depending how many litter boxes and/or cats you may have.
Really Dusty
Leaves a huge, nearly opaque cloud of dust when pouring or even just scooping. Unfortunately, looking at reviews it seems like every clay litter on the market became notably dustier around 2022. Supply chain issues maybe? I haven't found a usable clay litter yet.
A Product I Can Count On
I've tried quite a few different litter types and litter brands. I always come back to Fresh Step. The Clean Paws is VERY low on dust, and this is a big plus for me. I don't like the lightweight version of it, though - I only like the regular heavy clay version.
As Advertised
I have always been a fan of Fresh Step and recently tried the Light Weight type as I have shoulder problems. Tracked everywhere and clumped in my cats paws. Almost seemed to "melt" when wet and I had white spots around the house. This caught my eye and thought I would try it. Works as advertised. Minimal litter on the mat outside the box, clean paws and love the unscented/no dyes. Exactly what I was looking for.
Scented! Dusty!
Bought this because it states it's Unscented but it has a floral scent to it. As someone that is sensitive to scents, it's very noticeable for an "unscented" branded litter. Also so so very very dusty. Will never buy this again. Simply not!
Fresh Step
Excellent kitty litter. Unscented so your house does not have that "obvious" litter scent in so many of the scented litters. Great clumping and low dust. Highly recommend.
Got same order twice in four days
Although I am normally pleased with Chewy products and service, this time I was shipped the exact same Autoship order four days apart, and was billed for each! Luckily it was product that I can use eventually. The product itself is better than most litter but still tracks outside the box. No dust, though, which is a plus.
Formula change
Over the past several months I have noticed that the manufacturer may have changed their formula. Whether I get the clean paws or regular simply unscented, this is WAY more dusty than it used to be. It leaves a thick layer of dust all over the room where I keep 2 litter boxes weekly. I have been using this for years, especially with my litter robot but will be trying to find an alternative now!
Kitty love
I finally found the perfect litter! Very easy to scoop and lasts for a week with 3 cats using it. Very little, if any dust too! My cats use it and don't come out of the box sneezing like they did with cheap, dusty litters.
unscented litter
The cats are tracking this stuff all over their safe room. However it does control the oder well. I may change brands when it is time for my reorder.
