    Best litter I have tried

    By on

I like Arm & Hammer litter and started buying their lightweight version but the tracking was intense. This stuff is unscented which my cats appreciate. I find it good at absorbing odors (when the cats remember to bury). I was worried the large granules would not clump well, but they do. And lastly there is almost no tracking which I am delighted about. Selling it in smaller interior bags means it is not so heavy to manage though I am not thrilled about the plastic waste. I will definitely keep buying this one!

Don’t use if you have a litter robot

    By on Top 50 Contributor

Maybe in a regular litter box this litter works just fine but it does NOT work in a litter robot. It won’t clump at all.. the clumps of urine are still wet and mushy. This litter didn’t have a strong fragrance fabreeze smell which was nice and it wasn’t dusty at all. I love the small bags, very easy to pour. This just left just a mess in the litter box, it’s horrible. Also low tracking litter doesn’t exist, all litter tracks the same amount..

    Finally found my litter

    By on

I have four cats and four litter boxes & scoop at least once a day. I change out the litter completely, about every 2-4 weeks, depending on need. I've tried many different kinds of litter & this one is my now my favorite. There wasn't any dust, no odor from the litter itself, and very little tracking. It does a great job of masking the potty smells too. I didn't have any issue with pee sinking to the bottom of the litter boxes- just normal clumps throughout the box, as normal. And the clumps were rock solid- except for fresh ones; those would crumble as expected if scooped- definitely need to let them dry to clump, before scooping. The only downside is the litter is heavier than what I'd I have four cats and four litter boxes & scoop at least once a day. The other litters I've tried, would leave litter everywhere - getting tracked all throughout my house, leaving dusty foot prints & pieces of litter everywhere....just nasty. And the clumps always broke apart, with lots of tiny crumbles that were impossible to scoop up. Not unless you're using something like a cup. Bottom line, I'm only using "Fresh Step Clean Paws Simply Unscented Litter " from now on. … more

    Fresh Step is Best

    By on Top 10 Contributor

I have had cats for 30+ years so I have used almost every litter on the market at some time. I have 4 cats and 1 ginormous litter box that holds about 35# of litter. People tell me that you would never know I even had 1 cat because you never smell the litter in my home. Fresh Step is the best at odor control that I have found. I keep one auto ship for litter, one for all other things. I seldom have shipping damage that way.

    Not cat litter but cement.

    By on

This is the worst litter I’ve ever tried. It turns to actual cement when mixed with pee. My elbows and wrists are painful from arthritis making it nearly impossible for me to chisel it out of the pan. I won’t even burden the animal shelter by donating it, I’ll save it next time I need to patch my driveway instead.

    It tracks everwhere

    By on

I've used Fresh Step unscented for five years and it's fantastic. Somehow I ended up with this variety and it's more money for less product and the litter comes in big pieces. I find it everywhere. I won't be getting it again. The regular unscented 42 lbs one is the best.

Bad product-Clumps cling to the litter box

    By on

This is the worst litter. Clumps cling to box and have to be pried out. When I tried to wash out litter box it was a nightmare. Cat cried when trying to cover his poop with the litter. Awful. No wonder they put it on sale with food, they want to get rid of it!

    Does not clump

    By on

It reminded me of traditional litter, it does not clump. It has very large pieces and looks like non clumping litter. The box got stinky right away because it doesn’t clump. I will go back to the regular simply unscented.

Why is finding unscented little so difficult?

    By on

My local BJs is down to one brand of unscented litter. And I don't like that brand. I'm glad I have Chewy for a brand I Like.. And c'mon people! Who needs scented litter? Makes your cat smell like a room deoderizer.

    Best litter I've used!

    By on

I've tried just about every brand of cat litter on the market over the past 2 years including the subscription boxes and non-traditional litters, and this is by far the best one, even among the Fresh Step brand! The pieces of clay are larger so they don't track as bad as the regular. The smell is practically non-existent with this litter. Of course, that depends on the quality of food you feed as well but this litter actually lasts an entire month before it needs to be changed. Technically, I've had one box with this litter in it for over a month and I'm only changing it out because my cats like to urinate on the walls of the pan. Other brands HAD to be changed out at least every two weeks or I've tried just about every brand of cat litter on the market over the past 2 years including the subscription boxes and non-traditional litters, and this is by far the best one, even among the Fresh Step brand!
