I've only got one cat in my household, so I can't speak for multiple cats...I imagine if you have 2-3 and scoop every single day, it will work fine though. I also do not use an automated box, so I don't know how fast it clumps. It does clump tightly so may work well with one though. I keep a lidded trash can next to the litterbox for scooping and other litters, even other Fresh Step, often reek of urine as it gets more full. This one doesn't. Nice tight clumps!! If I skip a day, the clumps still scoop out nicely and don't stick to the box like even the non-Clean Paws version of the Simply Unscented. As for tracking, it's not perfect, but DEFINITELY better than the regular version of the Simply Unscented and waaaaay better than the Lightweight version (which makes sense). Compared to other unscented Fresh Step, Tidy Cats, and Elsey's...this one is hands down the best I've used. … more

We tried this litter because our old litter had been discontinued (by another brand). We have always used unscented litter and have used a variety of clay and lightweight litters over the years - none of which had any smell to speak of. We have always used unscented litter and have used a variety of clay and lightweight litters over the years - none of which had any smell to speak of. This litter is larger clay particles (not so soft for tender paws) and really does prevent tracking, but it has a noticeable perfume-y smell to it once you pour it out of the box. The smell is not super strong but if I notice it, any cat will notice. We thought maybe we got a box that was just mislabeled, but a second box (from a different store, so presumably a different 'lot') smelled the same. One of our cats would not use this litter at all - we'll never know if it's because of the smell or the texture. … more

cat litter
By chaiya on Feb 27, 2021
I have had great service from Chewy but the last cat litter was a problem. It is heavy and I needed light, unscented, dust free & it was sent to another part of town by shippers and very late with the box top pushed in.

Not track-free at all.
By TheoCat on Feb 27, 2021
This litter is great at clumping, but that’s about it. My cat tracks a huge amount of litter outside the box when he’s finished, and this does nothing but cement itself to the bottom of the litter pan.

Great litter
By DRAYLEM608 on Feb 15, 2021
Finally a litter that cannot be tracked all over the house! It really works. It is heavy but that's what keeps it in the litter box. It clumps well and is unscented so it checks all the boxes in what i am looking for in a litter.

Better than Tidy Cats and Arm & Hammer
By KylePosh on Feb 13, 2021
Fresh Step Clean Paws Unscented is by far the best litter we’ve used so far. Strong clumps, unscented, low tracking... what more could you ask for?

could be better

The crystal size does help keep litter off floor but formula can stick like glue and forms like hardened cement.

I love the new Clean Paws. Very little tracking from Princess anymore. Dont have to vacuum all my floors every time she goes to potty!

Great litter. Better for cats with allergies. It is also more environmentally friendly.

Really Makes a Difference
By KittyMom on Feb 1, 2021
We switched to Unscented because one of our two kitties refused to cover her business when we used the scented version. She wanted out of the litter box as soon as possible. Now that isn't an issue. Also, the Clean Paws feature is actually true - much less tracking on the floor with the slightly larger litter.

Much less dust.
By Litter on Jan 27, 2021
I was having a great deal of trouble with all the dust from my previous litter. I completely switched out all the litter to this brand and the amount of dust is considerably reduced. I’m also finding that I’m doing a lot less cleanup because it doesn’t travel as far. Highly recommended. I will say it does have a little bit more of a scent than I expected from an unscented product. But in my opinion it’s not overtly fragranced and my cat doesn’t seem to mind.

Clumps good but still tracks
By Barb on Jan 25, 2021
I like that it's unscented and it clumps well, it still tracks just as much as others.
