Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii - a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.
For best results, do not mix with non-clumping cat litter. For first time use, start with an empty, clean cat litter box. Fill your clean litter box with 3 to 4 inches of Fresh Step Cat Litter. Remove clumps and solids daily and dispose of in trash. Do not flush. Add more Fresh Step clumping cat litter to refresh your litter box. Maintain level of litter at 3 to 4 inches. Concentrated litter lasts longer - top it off and reset your litter box less often!*

This stuff is terrible. I wouldn't give it any stars if I could. I used to love Fresh step, but now even my cat wont use it. The litter does not clump and its super dusty. The particles are so tiny which track through the whole house and the litter doesn't clump properly which resulted in wet cat litter matted to the bottom of my poor kitty's paws. Fresh step, we're through.
I have an 11 year old female cat who has never covered her poop until I purchased this product. I believe she doesn't want to smell her scent and prefers the scent of the litter. It is amazing because I never knew a cat that did not cover their poop.
I've been buying a very expensive ground corn litter for years, which in my opinion is the best, except one of my 6 cats has very stinky poo which vet and I haven't been able to figure out. Anyway, it's not the best at controlling the odor. After trying numerous other litters which didn't work, I decided to try mixing this with the very expensive stuff just in the one box he seems to prefer. Not only does it require a TON of this constantly topping off, but it has made a mess of the sides and bottom of the pan but scooper too cause it sticks to everything. I scoop all boxes at least once daily and at least once a month do total dump and scrub of all boxes. Expensive litter lasts much longer and needs little topping compared to this. I won't get this again, I'll come up with a different approach to the odor problem. Little bits of poop with this litter on it gets tracked all over my house. Went through this whole box for just one litter pan in a week. Controls odor but little good can be said.
No issues with this litter at all. Works well, although it does track some. Have been using for quite a while now. But will be switching to another brand due to expense. I have 12 house cats and use a lot of litter!
At first pour it smells ok but once my cats used the litter box the smell of urine was very strong. I would clean the litter and have to add more deodorizer. This was not good for us.
While the cost is a bit higher this litter has decreased the odor and does not stick to the litter pan. less litter tracking. Have bought multiple times and will continue to do so.
I love this litter. Chewy also shrink wraps it so it doesn't leak everywhere during shipping unlike some other places we have ordered from
DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. ITS NOT THE SAME. THE ORIGINAL FRESH STEP CLUMPING WITH FEBREZE WAS 100% BETTER
I was hesitant to try this, so I first got the starter pack. I have two cats who are kind of finicky about their litter. Lo and behold they took right to it. It clumps VERY well, without all the mess like the crystalline, or rough pebble-like litters. There is very little tracking all over like the other litters I've tried, and my fur babies seem to like it better than the others. The Febreze scent is not overpowering, just enough to make cleaning the box less of a hassle. I now buy the large box that lasts me a whole month!
I will say it does last a little longer but it got to the point where I couldn't wait to finish it up so I could use the less expensive cat litter because it does not remove the smell at all! I have a few cats with 4 litterboxes so I know to clean them often but this just didn't work out for us.
