Both of my cats love this and literally tear it to shreds. I’ve purchased 2 so far and as soon as I replaced the worn out one with the new one, they were all over it. As others have said, it needs to have a weighted base. The small footprint is great, but it’s so lightweight it falls over easily. I put small barbell weights on the corners, which helps keep it upright. I also wish Chewy sold replacement sisal posts; that’s the part that wears out long before the rest of it and needs to be replaced. The price of a whole new unit is reasonable enough, I just hate throwing out the parts that are perfectly good when only the posts are worn out.
I have had this exact scratcher in grey for years. Even bought replacement poles for it. Finally came time to replace the pole again, and decided to get the blue setup instead. It matches the living room and their current crinkly pad better. It takes 3 minutes to assemble, and that's mostly opening the box. The bottom part folds and the top cap comes off, so easy to store the old colour if you want or need to use a different pole. Very soft material, vacuums well. Cannot beat the price for this size of scratcher. Can't say enough good things about it!
I bought this for my two cats because they love theirs on their condo. It is a great size and looks exactly like the photo. Easy to install. With that said, every time they try to use it it turns over on them. It needs a sturdier base. My cats are only 6 pounds and the other is 10 pounds. Totally a waste of money unless you want to screw into the floor of which I am not willing to do.
Two out of my three cats love this. Although my oldest is OG and unfortunately he still prefers the actual carpet on the stairs. (Argh!) The one who’s obsessed with sleeping under the Christmas tree has made this his new sleeping pad, guess he thinks it’s his short Christmas tree. I have two of these, the one on the hardwood floors seems to slide around a little bit but I could always put some anti-slip pads up under it, and I just haven’t gotten around to it. But in the same breath it gets used, swung around and demolished on a regular basis and has held up fairly well. Bonus, it’s cheap. Not cheap as in quality, but cheap as in price. Plus it’s super easy to put together (5 mins) and comes apart so once they over-use one piece of it, just rearrange the way it’s put together and they have new scratching area. Overall 100% it’s a win-win. Just buy it already, if it saves one furniture scratch, it’s worth it.
They like it, but they can’t play bec it just tips right over immediately….. Brand should consider weighting down the base or post, Better yet both of them. And make it so you can buy a third or more attachment posts to screw into the middle of it like the bottom one is…. So you can add some height if you like….. but as is I don’t recommend it sorry.
I have many cat scratchers, yet this inexpensive scratcher is the one they all line up to scratch. One of them lasts about 4 or 5 months before it is just a fuzzy rod of pulled up sisal - but that is to be expected with 5 cats tearing on it every day :) They are inexpensive (especially if you look for sales on certain colors) so I keep a few on hand to rotate into the mix when needed.
My cats love this, but it tends to tip over when they are using the scratching post. My cats are small (6 pounds) so I don't think it's because they are too big or too wild. It needs a heavier base. Otherwise, easy to assemble and the cats like it!
This scratching post is AMAZING. I have a big male cat and trust me when I say that this thing is so sturdy!! I have tried other scratching posts, but they get ruined so quick and just fall over. This really is the one scratching post that I know I will keep getting. The price is amazing and it will last you such a long time. 10/10!
Our 2 yr. old rescue kitty was destroying our furniture with her claws! I had place scratching posts all over. I added this one because her favorite have the rope type covering with some height! So far so good, she is using the post, she doesn't care about the ball on top at all. Big Bonus for me the price was great!
As soon as we got this my fiancé put it together and our cat has been playing with it for at least an hour. It’s very durable and not like the cardboard ones you commonly see. I can see this withstanding a long while!
