Purchased to replace xmas decor boxes my youngest fur baby claimed as her sleeping perch. Ordered evening of Jan 1 received Jan 4. So shipped fast. Box is pretty heavy, will need 2 people or a man to carry, or could open and unpack where delivered. I put the tree together completely by myself, using only the L tool that is included. Hardest part is lining up poles that go inside cubbies. Just put L tool through hole to line up. Super easy instructions included. The fur baby named Nala to which cat tree was purchased for, instantly knew was for her. She watched as I unpacked box. She layed on and rubbed her scent on as many parts she could. Then slept on the top perch until I was ready to attach that part. She has only left the perch to eat, drink, and use the litter box. She did of course check out both cubbies, but that top perch is her favorite spot which I knew it would be. She has even played with toy attached. Her ears go completely flat on her head whenever another fur baby comes anywhere near the tree. I believe I will have to purchase another for the other two. I cannot comment on durability as of yet, but seems it will hold up well. I love that bed comes off for washing. There are similar other brands that don't have this option, nor do they have poles to keep cubbies from collapsing. And they actually are only 4 dollars cheaper. This by far is the superior brand, and instantly cat approved.
I have two cats: a small 5-year-old and a larger maine coon mix 4-year-old. I got it so they both stop climbing on my desk while I'm working and they seem to love it. It is about level to the desk. They both fit comfortably in the top perch whether they both curl up or they stretch out and enjoy hiding in the cubbies. We've only had it for around 3 weeks but it hasn't shown fraying seams despite how much they scratch and bite at it. If you have more playful cats I would recommend weekly/bi-weekly vacuuming as the carpet does can get a bit torn up. The material is soft and seems strong so I am more inclined to believe that my cats are just menaces. The post on the second level is rarely used even by my larger cat as it doesn't give much space to stretch while scratching. Assembly was quick and easy. The instructions were clear and the pieces are labeled with numbers. The only things not labeled are the screws, but you can easily lay them out to find the right one as there were only 3 different types.
I chose this cat tree because it offered a large cat bed at the top to accommodate my large cats. I wanted them to be able to stretch out. It went together easily but unfortunately it is very unsteady and wobbly. I thought tightening all the screws would help but it did not. I still like the size but just very disappointed by the quality. One cat will not get on it anymore.
As you can see in the picture, Joe is snoozing happily on this tree/condo, while Pitch Black, who thinks it's HIS, is very annoyed. He tried staring at Joe, but Joe was snoring and happy as a clam. Meanwhile, that's my desk that Pitch is sitting on, so I had to endure that look until Joe woke up and left. I finally ordered another one, and put it at the other end of my desk so I won't have to see this any more. Now if we can just decide who gets the one that's already broken in... In other words - they love it, and it gets a lot of use. Putting the "condos" together is not easy - get yourself a ratchet screwdriver with an allen head. Once the first corner is in, it gets easier.
Great spot for Captain to lounge and watch the birds outside. He's a big guy and the bed on top is perfect for him. He's not a fan (yet) of the cubbies, but loves the scratching posts. My only comment about assembly is the size of the different screws are VERY close, so pay attention when assembling, otherwise it went together easily.
I have 2 cats and wanted something they could both use that wasn't so big I would worry it would fall over. This is the perfect fit, not too tall but with 2 cat condos and a soft bed at the top- both my cats love it! It's soft, sturdy and not very difficult to put together. The price was very reasonable as well.
My cat loves this tree and we only just built it a few hours ago! He is normally skeptical of anything new that we bring home but he was ready to use this as I was building! It was so easy to build and was up in about 45 minutes (additional time was required as my cat sat on just about every piece right when I needed it!) Also, it is perfect size for our large cat (he is just shy of 15 pounds but is not overweight so tall and long but not wide)
The pictures are deceiving to me. I thought the 33-in fur cat tree and condo had 3 flat levels and would work for my senior cats that are past the age of jumping to the top of their cat trees. They definitely need shorter jumping platforms to reach the top. This cat tree is more vertical. They can jump on top of the first house but there is no room to jump onto either the second house or the top bed because everything is squared up and the same width so there is no area on the top of the "second" house top for them to use as a second platform. They lost interest very quickly when they could get no higher than the first level. It would work for younger or more able cats but mine are 14+. It does seem that larger cats jumping floor to top level might make it wobbly but I can't be sure about that as mine are unable to do that. It's unfortunate because the overall height of the cat tree is perfect for the area I had in mind. I won't be keeping the cat tree and may just donate it to a rescue.
Our Boo Boo Kitty is a senior who loves keeping up with the neighborhood scene. She gets out of new "castle" to eat and run around for a few minutes. Overall, she loves her new furniture. We also have a dwarf rabbit, Lil Bub, who enjoys hiding in the cubbies as well.
I have two brother/sister kittens that love to sleep together, and as they are getting bigger, they were having a hard time fitting together on their favorite top platform. This tree has a larger top platform for future growth with a removable cover that you can pop into the wash.
