Is there a refill fiber mat for this scratching post? My cats have completely demolished the one they have but the wooden part is fine. They all loved it to death! It is sturdy and I need to find a new mat for it!
Answer by ChewyJul 23, 2018
At this time, the manufacturer does not have replacement scratch mats for individual sale.

What is the post and stand/perch beneath the sisal and carpet made of?
Answer by ChewyOct 18, 2018
The scratching rope is sisal. Bases are made out of particle board. The faux fleece fabric is made of polyester.

Does the sisal material come off over time, collecting on the floor at the base of the post?
Answer by ChewyJun 25, 2019
With continuous scratching, the sisal rope can start to come undone over time. It would also depend one the determination and strength your pet has while scratching.

Do they have material for this post I already own one and it's worn out
Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2018
At this time, the manufacturer doesn't offer any replacement sisal rope for this scratching post.

Worth Every Penny

I have 7 cats, and I used to buy the cheap cardboard and store bought rope wrapped cat scratchers that wore out after a month. What a waist of money!!! This may be more $$ upfront but it has lasted me 2 years!! What a relief from having to replace all the time. They love how TALL it is. I never realized that was why they preferred scratching the couch. Now they prefer this!

I Wish She Liked It

I wanted to replace an older scratching post for my cat, however, my cat hasn't scratched this one time. It is a different material than your regular scratching post material, and I was hoping that was going to be an improvement. She does like to sit on the to to watch the birds on the patio, but even with all of the encouragement, she hasn't scratched the post once. I'm mostly disappointed.

Great at first, but does not last

Bought two of these about a year ago to keep the cats from scratching our new furniture. Have 2 cats, they both loved them. However, after about 10 months or so, they are very wobbly. That is, the post is extremely loose on the base. So much so that the cats can't really use the perch any more. The screws that attach the post to the base are as tight as possible, but it is still very loose. Only a matter of time before it comes completely off. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because like I said, they were great, for a while. Too bad.

more than bargained for!

I have 2 cats. One absolutely loves to stretch out his entire 11 pound body when he uses this scratching post. He used it as soon as I took it out of the box. (It was very easy to assemble.) He also likes to hop on top of it and perch there! My other cat doesn't use it as much to scratch (she has another favorite) but when we play "find the kibble", she loves finding it on top of the perch! It is definitely more than I bargained for in a very positive way!

Sturdy & Well Made. Great for my 2 Cats.

Purchased this scratching post to place beside a new sofa in hopes that the cats could be directed to it instead of scratching up the new sofa and it's working beautifully. The post is sturdy and heavy enough that it doesn't fall over nor can the cats knock it over. They love to jump onto the top platform, too and keep their eyes on all the happenings below them. Am thinking I will get another one to put in another area of the house where I noticed they've started to scratch a couple of recliners. Very happy with this purchase.

Sisal Cat Scratching Post

My cats at first were a little frightened at the size of this. It is very large, but very stable. It took them a few days to get used to this material. They were used to the cardboard scratch pads. But they are coming around and using it more frequently. Very well made and it will last a long time.

doesn’t last long

I have purchased 3 of these. My cats will run and jump on these. The screws do not hold the base in to the post very well. All 3 are ready for the rubbish bin. At some point one of my cats will jump on it and go down with it. The last one I bought was only about 6 months ago. On the flip side it does deter them from scratching furniture.

Cats all love this one

As soon as I put this together (very easy) the cats were almost fighting over who would sit on the top! I always rub down cat trees and scratching posts with some cat nip first to attract their attention. This tree gets plenty of use every day. I love that it is tall, so it encourages them to stretch their backs. It's sturdy and I think will last a long time.

Fabulous scratching post

My cat absolutely loves it!! Because it's tall, he can really stretch up and give it a good workout! He has no interest in scratching the furniture with this post! It's very durable and I also spray it occasionally with a little catnip spray as well! A worthwhile investment for anyone who has a cat!

Not durable

It was easy to assemble but the screws holding the post to the base are too short. After 2 weeks, I had the post lying on its side and when I straightened it back up, (the base is very heavy) the screws pulled loose deep on the inside. The base is still attached but the post is wobbly, and I can't tighten it any further. I'm going to remove the base and let it be a horizontal scratching post.
