Is there a refill fiber mat for this scratching post? My cats have completely demolished the one they have but the wooden part is fine. They all loved it to death! It is sturdy and I need to find a new mat for it!
Answer by ChewyJul 23, 2018
At this time, the manufacturer does not have replacement scratch mats for individual sale.

What is the post and stand/perch beneath the sisal and carpet made of?
Answer by ChewyOct 18, 2018
The scratching rope is sisal. Bases are made out of particle board. The faux fleece fabric is made of polyester.

Do they have material for this post I already own one and it's worn out
Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2018
At this time, the manufacturer doesn't offer any replacement sisal rope for this scratching post.

Does the sisal material come off over time, collecting on the floor at the base of the post?
Answer by ChewyJun 25, 2019
With continuous scratching, the sisal rope can start to come undone over time. It would also depend one the determination and strength your pet has while scratching.

Love this!

PUrchased this really on speculation. Our cat has had a really short scratching post since a kitten. She is now 8. There was no way that she could stretch out, the way cats like to do on the one we had. She has never been bad about going after furnature or drapes, etc. but I noticed that she was beginning to "eye" a new recliner to scratch. So I purchsed this scratching post. At first, she did nothing with it but did scratch at the base. But within a short period of time, she has begun to use it regularly and still is doing nothing destructive to anything else. The post is attractive, blends in with our decor in the room. It is very sturdy and easy to put together. I am very glad I purchased this. I highly recommend.

Cat Magnets!

Now we have three 33.5" Sisal Scratching Posts. They're really durable. The cats can use them in the vertical position for a good stretch and scratch, and then climb up to sit on top to "survey their kingdom." Sometimes I lay the scratchers down, and the angle gives the kitties a little different experience. The cats love these scratchers. I often see two cats using the same scratcher at the same time. They really get into these "scratch offs!"

Frisco 33.5-in Sisal Cat Scratching Post

This is the best scratching post I have ever purchased. It is heavy duty and tall enough for your cat to stretch on. I bought one for each of my grand kitties and have two in my house. Well worth the price; great value! It is holding up well. There are a few parts you need to put together, but if I can do it anyone can; it is very simple I would highly recommend this scratching post. Chewy has speedy delivery too!!!

Exactly as advertised

Wonderful purchase. Sturdy base, quality sisal, decently crafted, and the height advertised was accurate. Money well spent. My cats started using it before I finished assembling it. If you have a cat that enjoys vertically scratching this is the post for you. The height facilitates stretching for both my American bobtail, and the less lengthy DSH.

Very good if you have big cats

I have three cats, two are large tom cats and the other is a spoiled somewhat overweight black kitty. They like to scratch on this post every day without fail. I bought two of these when chewy.com first began to sell the for about $25.00 each. I cannot believe the huge increase in price! I'm glad I have an extra one still in the box out in the garage for later use. Good deal regardless, esp. if you are looking for a solid scratching post for large cats!

Definitely

It was much bigger than I expected. I bought it to go in the front room, however, due to the size I will need to put it elsewhere. With that being said, my cat loves it. I set it by my bedroom window. He loves to perch on the top of it to stare out the window. He does this every morning when I leave for work and he does it again in the evening to watch the sunset.

Sturdier than our furniture!

Our cat uses this multiple times a day. We bought it a few months ago and it still looks new. It gives the cat a nice opportunity to stretch while getting some good clawing in. Very happy with this.

The best scratcher

I have 3 adult female cats and now a new kitten. They all love the scratcher. It is tall enough for my adult cats to stand and scratch with ease. The kitten is climbing it and sitting on top. Excellent scratcher!

Great height my boys like it, but

They could have included something to cover the screw on the small top platform. When I run my finger over it I can feel and sharp edge. I put a let pad over it. Otherwise it is a great value.

Hard assembly and bad off gas-ing

This cat scratcher came with 4 bolts and an allen wrench to attach the 2 bottom fur covered wood planks to the fabric covered post. The females that the bolts went into were so tight it was very difficult for me though I am strong to turn the wrench to screw in the bolts. Many choice words later I finally got all 4 bolts in. I as a woman note this struggle because I personally have many friends who could not have done this themselves. Strong man hands are needed to attach the base. Once assembled it looks nice except I do not like that they exposed the top bolt on the top of the scratching post. That bolt was not one I had to attach but it shows and looks crude and I wish it were concealed by the fur. My last concern was the very very strong chemical smell that came off for a couple days. It really was awful. A week or so after being set up my 2 cats do choose to use it daily as I had hoped they would. The smell and the bolts are the reasons I knocked off a star on its rating.
