Is there a refill fiber mat for this scratching post? My cats have completely demolished the one they have but the wooden part is fine. They all loved it to death! It is sturdy and I need to find a new mat for it!

At this time, the manufacturer does not have replacement scratch mats for individual sale.
What is the post and stand/perch beneath the sisal and carpet made of?

The scratching rope is sisal. Bases are made out of particle board. The faux fleece fabric is made of polyester.
Does the sisal material come off over time, collecting on the floor at the base of the post?

With continuous scratching, the sisal rope can start to come undone over time. It would also depend one the determination and strength your pet has while scratching.
Does this scratch post have any formaldehyde in the materials used to construct it?

Quality Post

I purchased this scratching post for Noah's birthday as he needed a new post. The post is well made and better looking in person. Noah and his brother Jake watched my husband put it together and were very interested. Neither one after it was placed where the old post was went near it. I waited a few days and then decided to use a cat nip spray on and when that didn't work rubbed actual catnip on. Still no luck and can't understand as they scratch a giant sisal mouse that hangs on our door. I called Chewy for advice and they said I did all the suggestions they would advise. Chewy issued me a credit and will donate to a no kill cat shelter.

The very best scratcher out there.

We have one former feral inside and four ferals that visit and during storms or on whims stay inside for a stretch. EVERY cat loves this scratcher. Tall enough for them to stretch, and for two of them a favorite pedestal to groom (a big cat cannot fit atop however), its sturdy, very simple to assemble, and has lasted about 2.5 years. Easy to keep clean. Just ordered another. Wish that the co. made replacement sisal for environmental reasons, but just about perfect.

Tall and sturdy!

Finally - a scratch tall enough for any cat to get in a natural scratching position and really stretch! How much they use it though depends on how much your cat enjoys sisal scratchers over cardboard, though. My cats' favorite part is that the scratcher is a perfect height to be a good jumping platform between furniture pieces to get to a window or another part of the room, and it's sturdy enough to take it!

Best We Found

This is the best scratcher we found online. The one we were replacing was very worn and finding a larger one proved difficult until we saw this deluxe scratching post on Chewy. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our cat loves it too! Another quality item among the many that we found at Chewy!

Great scratching post for all cat sizes

I liked this scratching post so much I bought a second one. I have 3 cats that use these - two of the cats are 8-10 lbs and my boy is about 15 lbs. It's very stable. I had a smaller one that they could easily knock over. This one is XL and has a larger, but soft/carpeted base. It's almost 3 ft high so it's nice that they can stretch out on it without knocking it over. The sisal is great for scratching and the carpeted parts are very soft. Even my big cat can jump on the top and sit. My only complaint is that the flat head of the metal screw on the top isn't covered by the carpet. It's flush and smooth so doesn't seem to bother the cats though. I recommend it!

Best Cat Scratcher Ever

Finally a cat scratcher that can hold up to my destructive furry boys. It was easy to put together myself, and my kitties started using it immediately. It’s sturdy and is a quality product. The delivery was quick, and was packaged well. I highly recommend it.

Cats love the sisal!

We bought one of these for the cats and they loved it, so we ended up getting another to keep in the other room. This scratching post is tall enough for them to get a good stretch while they scratch, which I think is why they don't go after the sofa. They also get tons of praise and treats when they use it. The female will run over to it and start using it if I ask her if she's a good girl. ;) I took one star off because one of the posts developed a wobble after about 6 months. (yes, checked the screws) They still use it but not as hard as the steady one. Sometimes I hold it steady while they use it if I'm passing by. Yes, they are spoiled.

Sturdy

I admit I was a little leary to buy one like this because the size of my cats. I was worried it wouldn't work for my big boy at 3 feet long 24 pounds. He actually jumped to the top and hung out. Even the new kitten likes scratching on it. I usually have my cat towers made because most you can find today wouldn't last a month with these 7 and are flimsy. I give this one a 5 plus star rating.

Huge

So far we love this car scratcher. It looks great in our home even though it is much bigger than we thought it would be. Our cat hasn't acknowledged it yet though so we are hoping she will learn to use it soon.

The best!

My spunky cat LOVES this scratcher! She climbs it, sharpens her claws on it, perches on the top to supervise everyone else...also it is much more attractive in my home compared to the beige and brown version. Love it!
