This is the first cat tree I've ever purchased. I have one 7lb cat. As others have noted, the top portion does spin and not stay screwed securely although it doesn't spin like a top, just a little bit. I purchased this 12 mo ago and am looking to replace the rope scratch post. It is noted in the Q&A section that parts are not replaceable, so that's on me. I will need to replace the entire tree even though only one part is worn out, the rest is like new. For me the size for my cat is fine; not too obtrusive in front of the window. I purchased one year ago exactly for 79.99 and now it's 103.00 OUCH. I'll look elsewhere if I need to replace the entire thing for only one part on a yearly basis. Other than not being able to replace the rope scratching post I am happy with this tree; works well for my smaller 7lb cat in a one cat home.
I bought one and within a week the carpet strands were coming out. I have 2 cats who scratch less than other cats I’ve had over 40 years. Chewy replaced it, but I told them I was concerned this was a design flaw where terrible carpet was used and that the same thing would happen. When the 2nd one arrived, I positioned it so the sisal post was most prominent. My cats scratch both sisal and carpet. It took a bit longer, but the carpet pieces are coming out in tufts. On the top sleeping pad, more carpet tufts and staples are coming out and threads from the carpet backing are all around the round sleeping pad. Save your money and skip this purchase. It is sturdy and a good design but the carpet is very poor quality and looks terrible quickly, not holding up to less than average scratching.
This is a very nice cat tower. Well made snd easy to put together. It just took 5 minutes. My cat jumped on it immediately. The only glitch was was the delivery, which has nothing to do with the product. Altho it got here quickly & on time the delivery service left it in the mail area. This area is 3 flights down from my condo. Altho I have an elevator it was tricky to get up stairs especially since I'm a 75 yr. old woman. This is the first time something has not been delivered to my door.
My cats really try to be first to get the top post. Sierra sleeps on the top every night.
The top piece doesn’t screw in properly so it won’t fit and one of the bottom pieces also doesn’t fit correctly. So my cats were never able to use this.
we bought 2 to replace older ones, these are smaller. not as well built, same loose fiber carpeting. but they give cats a high place to nap & play
Bought for my arthritic cat to help him access a window. I knew the top bed width would be on the smaller side, but I didn't expect it to have an exposed bolt that he would have to lay on. The steps are closer together than they appear in photos, so it is a pretty steep incline and due to the overall light weight of product, as kitties go up and down it becomes shaky and unstable.
I bought this condo to accommodate an adult cat with the height and design in mind. The bottom is sturdy, but the top is shaky because you attach it separately and the bolt/screw doesn't fit quite right between the pieces. An older cat without confidence won't get on the circular platform, or at least, mine doesn't. He likes the scratching post though. The condo has an odor to it, but it will eventually air out.
This arrived as promised. It was easy to put together, and it's a good configuration for an older cat. The sisal post is inviting, and the toy is fun. However, it's not the quality or sturdiness of past cat trees I've owned - weight and size of components. The bed isn't roomy enough for our 13-lb cat to comfortably curl w/o spilling over a bit. The post was crooked and needs a second anchor to keep it from turning. If I thought I could find better quality I'd return it, but it's likely a sign of the times.
Returned this tree. Great layout but the beige is a lot darker in person and looks kind of dirty, but more importantly it’s a bit crooked and the underside of each platform is not covered so particle board splinters are exposed. The carpet staples on one corner were also loose upon arrival.
