    Pretty good tree

By LinksTower on Jul 13, 2021

Quality seems good for the price. A couple of the hardware bits can be seen in the final product but not terrible. I might cover them with stickers if it keeps bothering me. Pillows feel soft but kind of cheap. My cat loves to climb. He will climb literally anything. I read the reviews and thought Quality seems good for the price. He will climb literally anything. I read the reviews and thought I dont think they will be a problem for him. Unfortunately it seems to be the case. The top is confusing for my cat to get up and down on. I twisted it to the side like some suggested and he still struggles to get up and down. He almost fell off but managed to save himself thankfully. The bottom skid pad is nice. I wish they had one for the top because he can't seem to get traction up there. It's his first day with it and he may adjust. I'll change my review if he does. I may just take the top part off and put the pillow on top of the top box. He seems to stay up there more than the top perch. Overall pretty good though he seems to like it. Cat is 8-9 pounds and 9 months old for reference. … more

Cats love it, but with a lot of modifications

My two kittens have been using this tree for about two months now, and there are a lot of things that I (and they) love about it. First of all, it is definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing cat trees that I’ve seen. The height is fantastic so that they can oversee the entire living room from the top perch. I also appreciate that the faux fur mats are easily removable for washing. My cats really love the top half of this tree. They are often playing and jumping out of the highest box or taking turns napping on the top perch. My biggest gripe is that they can’t access the top without a lot of modifications. I first placed this tree in front of a window, but with no other surfaces around it, they couldn’t climb to the top (and they are both skilled climbers). One of them actually fell off of it twice trying to get down. As other reviewers have noted, the problem is that platforms are too small for them to safely maneuver to go up or down. I solved this problem for them by moving the tree directly next to my couch so that they can hop onto the second platform from there. I also drilled a different hole to attach the sisal post to the top perch. The post is intended to attach in the center of the box, but the new hole is drilled as close to the edge as I could put it so that the cats have enough space on the platform to get up and down. I don’t know that this would work for most as this might cause it to tip over, but it works for my kittens since I am able/had to put the tree in a corner. Another note is that I don’t think that this would work at all for larger cats. My cat in this picture is about 8 pounds and while you can see that she fits when curled up, when she sprawls out even a little, her feet and tail are hanging off of the edge. I wanted to love this tree so much, and while it is cute, I don’t think that it’s going to be practical for most cats and people. … more
