Reason for my 3 star rating: Great cat tree that suits my 2 crazy cats. They love to climb, scratch, and nap in it. It was pretty simple and easy to assemble for starts. My only problems: After some time, it started to shed, and it did a whole bunch. It gets irritating to vacuum and clean the fuzzies after a while. The scratch poles would shed after a while, too, which was expected. The inside of the houses is a material that I can not get fur off of, so good luck trying to clean the inside. The string for the toys was chewed off after a couple of days, which i didn't think was possible but sure was. My one cat was able to shred some corners of the towers, and one of the houses easily with her teeth, so it's not very strong material after all. It does get wobbly, but overall, it's been put to good use. Just wish it was a stronger material.
I bought this product a little over a year ago. The cheetah print was a nice addition to my decor even thought it was a bit pricey. This product lasted for a little over a year and then started breaking down. I have two average weight cats and the towers have broken off and had to be glued to last. Eventually the large box broke causing the whole structure to collapse. Not worth the money. I have contacted Chewy customer service and they have offered no assistance.
This cat tree seems like it would be nice if it wasn’t missing parts when I got it. I called for the missing parts and they said I would have to put the cat tree back in the box and send it back to them in order for them to send me a new one with the missing parts. It took me hours to build it and I’m only missing a few pieces. I’m very disappointed it’s going to take me hours to take it apart all over again and ship it to them. I would’ve just not ordered it if I knew it was missing parts. It’s very frustrating that they can’t even send me the parts I’m missing without making it a huge hassle for me. I feel like I wasted my money.
This is the fourth or fifth Frisco cat tree I’ve bought and this is by far the worst. When I opened the box one of the bags with the hardware was slit open and the screws were strewn all over the box. The boxes on the tree now require manual screwing in of the pillars instead of being a solid piece which all the other ones have been. They also reduced the dimensions of the supports and the width and quality of the scratching post platform. People might not notice how cheap the quality has gotten but because I put bought so many of their products and still have two setup in my basement it’s glaringly obvious. What a shame.
I only got it and put it together today, so time will tell on the durability. But, so far, I am happy. It was simple to put together and surprisingly stable (up against a wall or two would make it really sturdy, I think). And my cat loves it. He wasn't sure about the smaller 'apartment', but I put him in the larger 'apartment' while I was putting the tree together and he liked it. Once I was done with the construction, he explored (and really liked one of the dangling mice) before setting up camp on the highest platform. Now my brother's cat is on one of the lower ones, and they look like two happy boys. We will see if my mom's girls like it at all. (So far they have shown no interest.)
I researched many cat trees and read others reviews, ultimately deciding on this one. It is sturdy, soft and is a nice design. I put it together myself and found the directions easy to follow and it took about an hour to assemble. My cat already loves it and it has been up for about 4 hours. I bought the 72 because my cat likes to perch. It looks and feels very well constructed and I hope our kitty enjoys it for a long time. I am super pleased with this purchase!
I had a previous version of this tree for about 8 years. I loved it. It held up very well. I only replaced it because the carpet and scratching posts were wore out. Structurally, it was still solid. I had the new version of this tree up for a month before one of the pedestals broke off. My boys are under 9 pounds. If I would have known they changed how this was built, I would have found someone handy to refurbish the old one. The whole thing is very wobbly in general.
So I keep buying this tree because the measurements match up perfectly to the window that leads out to the catio and the top perches reach the upper window hammocks. My cats are ROUGH on their tree. I have 7. They launch off of it, chase each other up and down it. This tree only lasts a little over a year in my home. My main complaint are the pedestals only having one screw in the middle. The pedestals are the main things to go. I wish each pedestal was cube shaped and had more than one anchor point. They use this tree daily and all like sleeping on the pedestals. They also are the travel point to their higher windows and hammocks. Eventually they are all leaning and wobbly. Which is why I’m replacing it again. Please consider more sturdy pedestals for daily use!
My cats love it and it seems quite strong and the design is great. Doesn't take up too much space. Thought the reviews were good enough to check it out, and I am very happy with my choice. I think my kitty's are too. Thanks Chewy and Frisco.
I have five cats and the only reason I purchased a new tower is because the other one was five years old and it was time to get a new tower. I put this together about two months ago as I was waiting to get my patio and fence built. AND these are a pain to put together so allow yourself some time. Disappointed to see the quality as it’s already starting to fall apart AND how much smaller the XL is than the last one I purchased. Maybe I could glue down the pieces that have come apart, but shouldn’t have to.
