Will this container hold a 30 lb bag of blue Buffalo

The 26 Qt container may hold up to 20-24 lbs. and the 16 Qt may hold up to 12-13 lbs. The storage capacity is calculated on total volume so capacity may vary based on kibble size, brand, etc.
Is it safe to pour the food directly into the container, or should it be in a bag? I Worry about toxic chemicals and such seeping into the food.

This food storage canister passed FDA testing for food contact. The pet food or treats can safety be placed inside the canister without a bag.

Lives up to its name of "airtight"

Bought this for my cat since I get her a larger bag of cat food at a time (10lbs Blue buffalo Sensitive Stomach, so results could vary). And of course, the bag doesn't have a resealable feature so duct tape was the closer (annoying to say the least but I blame the cat food company). Even though it is geared for dogs, cats don't mind it. One thing I do recommend is to take note of the room temperature. If the container is in a colder room it may be harder to open than warm but that could be my opinion. All in all, it is shadow menace (my nickname for my cat since she's an escape artist and a door genius) approved!!

Super cute food bin

I had been looking for a cute food bin to store dry food that wasn't plastic and, honestly, ugly. This is perfect for what we need. It does say air tight and that's the only downside. We don't have any issues with it not being airtight, but if it is marketed that way, I feel like it should come that way. I'm super happy with it though and would recommend.

Frisco Airtight Food Storage Canister

I have a serious ant problem in the warmer months and wanted to get something that would keep them out of my cats food. It worked for like a week and the other day when i went to open the container, there were like 80 tiny ants inside. Was disappointed that it still didn't keep them out. Seems like a nice product and is of good quality but still didn't do that job for me unfortunately. Only writing this if anyone has the same issue and is looking to buy this to keep tiny ants out. Otherwise, it's a good product.

Still functional

I got this to keep my very smart dog out. She can manage to open containers and even our trash lids. The product came with a small rubber piece and I’ve seen similar reviews so I had half expected something like this. I still gave it a shot and hid the food in the bin. It’s been about 2 weeks now and she still has not been able remove the top lid. So I am happy. Although I’m not sure if the food freshness would be affected.

Keeps the Rats Out

This replaces the sturdy plastic pail that the rats chewed through. It think it will be very satisfactory.

It’ll do, but not perfect

I bought 2 of these. One for each dogs food. One lid is tighter than the other, I’m not sure if I prefer the looser or tighter lid. They serve their purpose and look WAY better than bags of dog food.

Not airtight as advertised

Received this item today and it is not airtight as advertised. As others have mentioned the plastic seal is missing. It's just an expensive metal bucket with a fancy lid.

Was great for a few months

I bought this to hold seed for my bird feeder. It holds a lot of seed, keeps it dry and prevents squirrels and other animals from getting into the seed. For the first few months it was great, but a few days ago when I went to fill my bird feeder, I discovered the silicone seal around the edge of the container had split and fallen off. I'm not sure if this will seal well enough to keep my birdseed dry now, but I can't afford to replace it.
