Decent Ramp for Senior GSD
I purchased this ramp for my 80 pound, 13-year-old GSD. The length, width, and slope are just right for our needs. Though it is advertised to have “traction grooves“, the surface texture is still very slippery. I threw an old yoga mat over the top of the ramp which made my old dog much more comfortable. He was a bit unsure when he reached the middle of the ramp and it wobbled slightly, but he overcame his concern with encouragement from a few treats. Be careful when folding the ramp as I almost smashed my fingers pretty hard. I gave the ramp a rating of four stars mostly because of the surface texture and needs for modification. Overall this ramp is a great value for the price and quality of the product.
My New Ramp
I am an elderly Shih Tzu. My home has steep steps to the backyard and the other day I had trouble getting down them. My human units saw this and quickly got on Chewy to see what they could get to help me. They found the Frisco bi-fold for cars, but it works great for the back steps for me to get into the backyard. The ramp came in the mail promptly and my Dad unit set it up and my Mom unit cut up her old yoga mat, bright pink, for the middle. It is sturdy and I'm getting used to it. I am so happy and so are my human units!
Good solid ramp
I like this plastic ramp, choosing this over the metal versions. It is solid, and gave Tashi (a large German Shepherd mix) the confidence to walk up to the back of my SUV within ten minutes of coaxing. The ramp rests securely on the back of the cargo area without scratching the bumper. Then again, I have a cargo cover beneath it to protect the bumper, also from Chewy. Very satisfied with this purchase.
Sturdy and well made
Ramp is very sturdy and well made all around. Very impressed with this product. Great for my small and large dogs. My two arthritic senior dogs have no trouble going up or down this ramp.
DOES NOT FIT 4RUNNER
THIS RAMP DOES NOT FIT MY 4 RUNNER DOORS OR THE BACK HATCH. THE ANGLE IS TOO STEEP FOR MY DOG TO GET IN THE SUV FROM THE BACK HATCH. MY SUV IS 9 INCHES OFF GROUND.
Durable ramp. Pete needed a little prodding to use it, because he's used to jumping into and out of our jacked- up Jeep. Pete's getting there in age, and we believe using a ramp will prevent any broken bones. Fast shipping, the ramp arrived before our next weekend hike. Another good idea would be a tri-fold ramp, better for lack of space in our Jeep.
Very sturdy, but
The ramp was recommended to me by my daughter who owns 140 pound American mastiff. It’s a great ramp. It’s sturdy under foot and it connects to the step easily. Unfortunately, I cannot convince my old dog to go up the ramp. It’s just too fearful for her
Arrived Damaged and Broken
My 110lb chocolate lab tore both his ACLs and we got this ramp for our back stairs to help him down and up. I had high hopes, but when we opened it, two of the clips on the back are broken. I can’t return it because we are desperate and he needs it, but I am super disappointed. I imagine it would be perfect with out that damage. We have to reinforce the underside where it bends so he doesn’t hurt himself and the ramp doesn’t break.
good fast service...ramp is sturdy; but light-weight...I did attach carpet for better footing...folds easily for storage in our van.
Feels cheap and too short. Will have to put one step to make it agentler incline. Also was jppinb to use it to get dogs on our pontoon...will have to juryrig something.
