Frisco Boulder Plaid Insulated Dog & Cat Puffer Coat

Can't harp on this coat enough! I absolutely love it. It's taken me months to find a coat for my Scottie that fits his body type - I wanted something that didn't cover his whole belly because he accidentally pees on those (gotta love male dogs). This is perfect for him, keeps snow/rain off of this back, and doesn't make him too hot even on long walks. I just wish it came in a green version for my other dog!

This is the 5th Frisco item I have bought for our dog and we love them all. Mr. Peanut is 9 1/2 inches from floor up to shoulder, 12 inches from neck to end of butt and 15 inches around the "chest" behind the front legs and takes a size small. He is a blind rescue from Florida and now lives the Good Life in the chilly North Carolina mountains, so this puffy jacket is perfect. In the photo he is modeling it over a Frisco polo shirt while trying to figure out what snow is. One review said the jacket is thin but we think it is just right. It is correctly under the sub-label "jacket". It is not under the "Winter Coats" label.

Durable , cute . I thought this coat would be thicker and used alone when my 5lb dog is outside. So I use it on top of another coat when it is frigid out. Maybe i missed reading it or seeing it. Maybe Chewy might have a meter that shows the coat warmth . example 1-10 and 10 being frigid conditions 35 degrees. Of course no one would walk a dog a long time in these conditions however just a short time out is brutal on a 5 lb dog .

I do really like this coat that I purchased. It is nice and warm around the top and front for my furry friend and stays on nicely. The only issues I've found with it are that the belly strap is a little close to his privates, so he pees on it when he goes outside. The other issue I have is that the back end flares out so much, it looks like a bell hanging around his butt. It would be better if the back end fit a little snugger around his back, the cold wind just blows right up through the back and my little guy is old and has arthritis, so the cold isn't good for his back. I think maybe there's just a little too much material at the end. It's still a nice coat and I would purchase it again.

My chihuahua usually hates all coats and sweaters, but this coat is so easy to put on that he does not squirm or growl when he is dressed. The neck part does not go over his head (which he loves). Rather, there are two velcro straps that wrap around his neck. There are also two velcro straps that wrap around his belly. The coat is also thick and warm but does not make it difficult to move around.

I took care to measure both my dogs chest at widest point and length and ordered the LARGE but they were too snug, even with the adjustable velcro tabs. And these were not available in XLARGE, so they were donated to a local shelter. Otherwise, they were PERFECT for my dogs, easy on/easy off, no arm or leg holes to wrestle with.

We've been having colder than normal temps here (in the high 20s and low 30s) and this has been the perfect coat for my senior dogs. It velcros on securely, so no contortions that might hurt arthritic joints; it washes up fast and dries even faster; and the dogs don't mind wearing it! I have a L and an XXL and say: measure, please--the L is a 21-pound little guy and the XXL was purchased for a 38-pound medium terrier! The XXL also fits a 50-pound Standard Poodle, so, again, measure! There is a covered opening for a back-attachment harness as well as being usable with a regular collar. I am so happy I gave up on those cute sweaters for this much-easier option.

Not only this one but Chewy helped and found a winter coat for a larger dog. I can't thank the Chewy staff member who went out of their way to solve a problem not available in the regular lineup of cold weather ware for our precious dogs. I said it before and I'll say it again, You all the best "go to" for all our animal needs year round.

I bought this for my new puppy as he is easily chills in the cold. The size was as listed in chart and it fit great. It was super cute and helped keep him warm/dry during wet snow. He is a puppy, so was going out several times daily. We were only able to use for about 12 days before the Velcro no longer would hold. It may last longer for those using it intermittently and for a dog who has already been house broken and not going out hourly.

We got this one since it's easy to put on. She's a little Pomeranian, therefore she has long fur and it's sometime hard to put on coats with Velcro. She's also happy in this comfy coat. I had her in the snow and it's pretty good not getting wet.
