Cats love Cactus Scratching Post
By Gracie on Jan 15, 2021
My daughter, her husband and their 3 cats came to live with me and my 2 cats in July while they were looking for a home. She has always told me how she can't get her cats to use a scratching post, so I ordered the Cactus (2 of them) and they ALL loved them. I also have another post plus one that lays flat on the floor....as time went on, each of the cats were using all of them, however one of hers and one of mine took to the green cactus right away. I thought it was cute even if the cats don't like it, but they do. My older boy will lay down on his back and pull at the ball that stretches on the side. I'm glad I bought two...one for each of us...they have now moved to their own home and My daughter, her husband and their 3 cats came to live with me and my 2 cats in July while they were looking for a home. Good, but Too Light Weight
By Collectonian on Jan 17, 2021
I got this as a rather cute scratching post for my new kitty, who is pretty small, only around 8.5 lbs. The first time she went to use this, it nearly fell on top of her, scaring her away. She does not scratch at her post very vigorously, she's quite soft pawed, and I've used other posts with bigger kitties and not had this happen. It is cute, though, and she gravitated towards it, so we fixed it by adding a heavier wooden base around it. Makes it take up more room, but it stays on the ground and she loves scratching it and rolling around on it.

Quirky and fun Cactus Cat Scratching Post
By LisaTE on Jan 18, 2021
My 3 cats (and my family) love this scratching post. I bought it to replace the family Christmas tree and to cheer up the family room which often looks a bit glum and lackluster in January after removing all the glitz of Christmas. My idea was that this eccentric and quirky cactus would be just the thing to cheer up the family room and give the cats a bit of healthy fun as well. Happily, I was right. Not only do all the cats enjoy using it, but it so quirky that it also puts a smile on my face whenever I see it during the somber month of January while enduring another month of shut-down during a viral pandemic! I thought it was well-priced and affordable.

Cute and fun
By Stacey on Jan 14, 2021
I have five rescue kitties who are very spoiled. They have a number of scratching posts and cat trees to enjoy. I have even removed furniture in order to make room for more cat gear. I thought this cactus was really cute, plus it was on sale, so I got it. It was easy to put together and the kitties like it. Well, actually, three of my five cats like it. The other two aren't big scratchers. I attached a photo of Sandy with his new cactus cat tree.

Attractive & unique scratching post
By Trace on Jan 8, 2021
This is an attractive & unique scratching post. It's tall enough to allow my cats to stretch up to scratch the carpet part; however, if the want to scratch a little lower on the sisal rope, they can do that too. However, the main thing is that the kitties actually USE IT! Plus it's cute and decorative and seems to be holding up well after about of month or two of the kitties scratching on it. Another nice thing was that I was able to buy this Cactus Post on sale at Chewy.com and they delivered it very quickly, as they seem to do with all of my other orders. The Cactus Scratching post was super-easy to assemble too. I'm 95% satisfied with this order. The only down-side is that the cats This is an attractive & unique scratching post. However, they still seem to enjoy scratching on it (vs. on the furniture) so, overall, I'm very happy with this purchase & would reccomend it to others. … more

It’s really cute though
By Bailie on Jan 11, 2021
So, this cactus scratching post is adorable. I bought it for my two cats and they were both immediately interesting in scratching it. The problem is the post is so lightweight that anytime either of my cats try to scratch, they end up pulling the post down on themselves and it falls over. Then they get kind of scared and stop trying to scratch it. Maybe if it had a heavier bottom, it would work better. The base of the scratching post isn’t wide enough for them to stand in on it and scratch at the same time, which would also prevent it from tipping over. For that, I wouldn’t really buy this again. It looks cute, but it doesn't get their interest like a bona fide cat tree
By 2cats on Jan 6, 2021
I got this because the 2 cats literally shredded the spiral rope (THICK rope, like the kind of rope that could hold 2 railcars together) constituting the scratching post portion of the 2 cat trees, but unfortunately, they still give the poor abused cat trees all the attention when they want a scratching post, and I think one of them seems to not even realize the intended purpose of this one. Why? Because this still isn't a cat tree and there are no platforms to be on top of, so it never even gets their interest in the first place. I think it really needs to have some sort of platforms to trick them into actually using it even for its primary purpose of scratching post. In summary, to get them to use it as a scratching post, you should design it with something which doesn't serve any purpose of a scratching post. Paradoxical, but that's cat logic. I think you were maybe trying to do something like that, since it has a little muff on a string, but the string on it definitely needs to be longer, they don't play with it. It wouldn't look so much like a cactus if you gave it a platform, but then again the cats don't care and don't know what a cactus is anyway, that appearance is for the humans to compel them to buy it I guess. But I HAVE occasionally seen one of the 2 cats actually use it, so I guess it's not a failure. … more

Popular with my 3 cats
By Jessica on Jan 9, 2021
I ordered the 31 inch scratching post because one of my cats was scratching up our new dining room set. I put some catnip on it and all 3 of my cats were using it right away. Between this scratching post and a healthy dose of positive reinforcement, our cat seems to have lost interest in the furniture and has been consistently using the post. He's having a lot of fun with it! My cats range from 8.6 lbs to 15 lbs and this thing is sturdy!

Best scratcher ever!
By Meowcee on Jan 14, 2021
I have tried all kinds of scratchers, and my kitty has always like the cardboard type. HOWEVER, he constantly went after my living room chair. I thought this was cute and decided to give it a try. HE LOVES IT! My chair is saved!! it is easy to put together, just a couple of screws for the base and screw on the mop top and voila! Scratching heaven. I got the bigger one, so it is also is sturdy enough to not tip oven when he, at 16 lbs, climbs and jumps on it.

Great scratching post!
By Jenns17 on Jan 8, 2021
This was a perfect Christmas gift for our new “desert kitty”!! We just moved to Tucson right before Xmas, and I thought this would be a funny addition to our new home! Helps that it is such a useful, sturdy scratching post as well! It’s quirky, adorable and she took to it right away! We went with the larger one based on reviews since she is an adult cat. She does not have front claws, but thinks she does! She uses it many times a day, loves to bat the toy attached to the top. I highly recommend!
