I bought 2 of these less than 3 weeks ago and one is already broken. The other is almost there. The bowl locks into place but to get it to unlock causes it to break
This crock was a good price but oh boy, the design is possibly the worst of anything I've ever bought, except for maybe the Litter Maid. There's only one good thing about it: the plastic is thick and sturdy and will probably take 500 years to degrade. Now for the many cons: There's a peg at the bottom of the bowl that slides into a slot on the clamp-on stem. That means for refilling, you can't set the bowl down because it falls over. You can't even set the bowl aside without emptying it first. The slot that the peg fits into is only on one side of the clamp arm. That means if the slot side is turned away from you, it makes aligning the peg into the slot difficult. You *will* spill liquids as you jimmy the thing around trying to lock and unlock the peg from the slot by turning the bowl and sliding it out. The slot and the method of attachment means you can only attach the clamp to vertical bars. The little peg holding a heavy bowl is not stable and is easily knocked sideways by a cat.
Only dish my Macaw’s can’t figure out. Yet. We have been through multiple dishes for our two Macaws and they are super smart and always seem able to dismantle. Even though they have many toys, removing dishes and throwing them on the ground is much more fun. Well, these stay where you put them and they’re easy to clean, just throw them in the dishwasher. Thank you Chewy for coming through again
this didn't last more than 5 minutes before my dog tried to drink out of it and it fell right off the bars, no matter what we did, it wouldn't work
Cool in theory, but it does not hold well to the bars of a crate. The clamp is really weak and can be either turned or easily unscrewed, spilling the food or water all over. The clamp would not work at all on a crate with bars set wide apart, or thicker bars like on a ruffland. I used this on was a 42" large standard wire crate. Unfortunately not a win on this one!
This style is hard to get in and out without spilling. The one I bought earlier is better as it lifts out instead of slides in.
I bought this as a more affordable alternative to the lixit bowl, but it is not the same. The one bracket is attached to the arm that holds the bowl and therefore can't be rotated to allow for horizontal bars on my critter nation cage. My rats just spilled 20oz of water into their bedding as they must have climbed on it and the arm rotated, spilling the bowl.
Thus crate crock is very sturdy and smooth. So food or water slime is so easy to clean and attach! Great product.
These are great water bowls for dog crate. This is our 3rd one. One for each crate.
Shipping fast, fit my baby's kennel perfect, holds plenty of food and water to last him the whole day. Would recommend!
