Good investment- Storage and Good Use.
Perfect. It's really pretty big, the taller stair/storage holds TWO 16lb plus one 7lb bags of kibble!! I keep some cans & bowls in the smaller stair. It's amazing how much can fit in this wonderful storage/stairs. It's a sort of plush-ish material on the outside and the cats have used it as a bed too, another plus as we have many cats and the more comfy sleep spots the better. Good investment!!
lasted a little less tha year
Super bummed about this one. It was so helpful for my cat who was experiencing neuropathy from diabetes, but unfortunately it’s poorly made. A few months in the nails started popping through the top step so I popped them back in. Shortly after that the black piece attached to the inside of the step topper started to fall off. By about 10-11 months in it was no longer connected at all. Now I’m left with steps that have nails poking out of the top when I open it to access the storage. All I can do is hope that it stays on when my cat uses it, since the inner black portion is no longer attached whatsoever, until I can afford something new.
Sturdy and Durable
I purchased two of these for my 13y/o Chihuahua. With his aging legs and neurological disorder we needed something sturdy that didn't slip around like the cardboard stairs we had originally. I was very surprised by the weight of these stairs, two of them felt like 20lb. But the bonus of that is they don't move around when used. They also have a wider step which helps him feel secure that he won't wobble off. Great product, (heavy).
THOUGHT it was sturdy!
I love how these stairs are so portable, but they need to strengthen the top board on the stair tread. Rated for up to eighty pounds, my sixty-two-pound American Bully broke the corner on the bottom step when she slipped climbing up the stairs (can you say zoomies!) Because of this, the board has collapsed sever times, forcing me to add support underneath (inside) the bottom step.
Puppy not a fan
I bought these stairs for my frenchie pup to try and use so he would stop jumping up and down from the couch. really sad, but he only uses them about once every couple weeks. he would do it for treats but that is it. The step is also slightly too tall and the pup is too chest heavy so he would fall sometimes going down them. I wanted to try and return but unfortunately he chewed the edge of it the first day we got them. They are made with cheap smaller particle board so easy to chew for those puppies. I didn’t know when I originally bought them that they stored things which I absolutely love. For how flimsy the stairs seem, they’re actually really sturdy. My 60 pound cattle dog uses them to stand on all the time.
These stairs seem to be a great product. They were easy to put together. They are nice and sturdy and covered with a soft material. I assume they would be very helpful in getting my arthritic older kitty to get where she wants to go; however, she won't use them! She sniffs and walks away. We've tried putting treats on the stairs. Nope. She went up one stair yesterday and layed down on it. So I guess that's progress!
safe & strong landing
My senior gal appreciates the larger steps which make her feel more secure. Two steps is all she needs so she doesn't have to take a running leap for the bed! Haven't used the storage, but will to corral some of her toys. Chewy is my NEXT best friend!
I purchased this for my small dog, She is not interested in the unit. Prefers to use a simple step stool to jump up on the couches. I placed this unit, heavy and difficult to move around as the unit tends to want to collapse when moving it, even with all the pieces in place as directed. May be useful to some, but my baby could care less, between this and the bed I ordered which she will not lay in ( very unusual) I wasted over $70 on two items I will never use. The items were heavy and left on the sidewalk to my front door instead of at the front door on the porch, and in a way oversized box making it difficult to move. I even contacted the delivery service to give specific directions which they ignored.
I came back for a second set
My dog had surgery in the fall which meant no jumping on the couch or bed. He’s 20 pounds and these were perfect. Once he was healed I folded up the ones in the living room and easily stored them away. The ones to the bed are still up because it turns out he just likes using them.
My cat is a Birman and has very short legs. She loves to sleep in our bed, but it was like climbing Mt. Everest for her. This was the perfect solution as she not only knew to use it as way to climb up onto the bed but she also uses it as a scratching post. It’s makes for a great storage box for her extra supplies too. I’m very pleased with my purchase.
