Description

Remember to measure your pet for the paw-fect fit. The Frisco Dog Head Collar provides gentle control to help keep your pup from pulling or lunging during walks. The halter-style design features a nose loop that gently guides your dog’s nose back by your side when he wants to pull—putting you in control of your walks. Control with comfort, though! The nose loop is adjustable so you can find a fit that’s comfy, and has a soft neoprene padding. When fitted properly, the collar forms a V shape and doesn’t get in the way of your pup having a snack, or staying hydrated. The collar also sits high on the neck, so it helps prevent straining these sensitive areas. Ideal for training and everyday walks, it comes in different sizes for most dog breeds.

Key Benefits
  • Gently helps correct pulling, lunging and jumping during walks, and helps train your dog to walk without pulling.
  • Self-correcting nose loop design gently redirects your dog when he starts to pull.
  • Comfy to wear while walking or training--adjustable nose loop has soft neoprene padding, and the collar forms a V when fitted properly so dogs can eat and drink while wearing it.
  • Sits high on the neck so it prevents excess pressure on sensitive areas like your dog’s throat, when in use.
  • Available in different sizes to accommodate most dog breeds. Ideally suited for long-snouted dog breeds.
Precautions

The head collar should only be worn during walks and supervised training. Never leave pet unattended while wearing the head collar. Not intended to be used as a muzzle. Not for tie out. Not for puppies under 8 weeks old.

Instructions

Measuring Guide:

  • Using a measuring tape, measure the circumference of the dog’s snout, just below the eyes.
  • Measure the circumference of the dog’s neck at the top of the neck, just behind the ears.

Important Fitting Tips:

  • If either measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger of the two sizes.
  • Collar can be adjusted to a snug fit so make sure your dog’s measurements are not smaller than the collar’s dimensions.
  • If fit properly, the collar and nose loop is snugly fit but loose enough for your dog to open his mouth.

Training Tips:

  • Using a treat and lots of praise, practice putting on the headcollar indoors. Leave the leash off for now.
  • When your dog is comfortable with the headcollar, attach the leash and start with a short walk outdoors.
  • On the walk, hold the leash to allow enough slack for your dog to walk by your side. Don't let them rush ahead.
  • When your dog starts to pull, gently guide their nose back by your side. When they stop pulling, allow the slack back and reward with a treat.
  • It might take a few attempts, but be patient! You'll quickly see that your dog will learn how to walk without pulling on the leash.

How to fit the collar:

  • Hold collar by the nose loop with the buckle unfastened. Have a treat ready.
  • Guide your dog's nose through the loop with the treat.
  • Wrap neck strap up high behind ears, and fasten buckle. Adjust the strap for a snug and secure fit.
  • Adjust sliding clamp for a snug fit.
  • Attach a leash to the O-ring and get going.

Tips: If the collar is adjusted correctly, your dog's mouth should open easily to pant and drink water. Neck strap should fit snugly and positioned just behind the ears. Sliding clamp should be securely closed. Do not keep constant tension on the leash.

    Not for us

By Flattie on Mar 11, 2021

Off leash, at the dog park, my dog is awesome, but she obviously can't be off leash for our neighborhood walks, and I can't redirect her to save my life when we come across other dogs. Put a leash on her, and she loses the ability to follow voice commands. She hated this head collar, which I expected, but I thought after a block she'd accepted it. Nope. She started pulling more, and she's a very strong, 80 lb rescue. We got to the spot on our walk where we always have a problem - a house with three very loud, very aggressive dogs on the other side of the fence, and my dog went wild, thrashing and trying to get the head collar off. In her thrashing, she managed to get the loop that connects to Off leash, at the dog park, my dog is awesome, but she obviously can't be off leash for our neighborhood walks, and I can't redirect her to save my life when we come across other dogs. Great leash collar to train dogs not to pull hard !

By blsankey on Mar 26, 2021

This collar trains dogs fast to quit pulling by turning their head back as they pull hard . Dogs learn very quickly that they control the discomfort of head turning by not pulling hard . Almost immediately they stop pulling so hard as they realize they control their own comfort. Great training tool.

    Works wonderfully

By AHart on Feb 23, 2021

I have an 80# 2 year old dog that is training resistant and stubborn. As soon as I walked him on this he doesn’t pull and walks right by me. He doesn’t like that it’s on his face and will take some getting use to for him but he stops messing with it when I tell him to. It is a life changer for me as he is very strong and hard to control.

    VERY GOOD LEAD

By ANGEL on Feb 27, 2021

THIS LEAD/COLLAR IS VERY GOOD AND WORKS AS DESCRIBED. MY BULLMASTIFF, EVEN WITH THE SHRTER NOSE FINDS IT COMFORTABLE AND EASY TO WEAR. THE THINNER NOSE PIECE FITS HER BETTER THAN OTHERS AND IS PADDED. I RECOMMEND THIS BRAND VERY MUCH FOR ALL DOGS.

    Waste of $

By Pain on Mar 17, 2021

There are better ones put. Being a dog trainer I can honestly tell you this one is not good. It slips off dog and you can not attach it to flat collar. Spend a little more and get better one.

By Stopit on Apr 13, 2021

This is the only thing that has helped my dogs pulling issue. He went from dragging me around to walking beside me or walking on a loose lead.

    Good head collar

By pupmomma on Jan 11, 2021

This is an amazing head collar for the price. You’ve got to take into consideration that dogs typically do not like new things especially on their faces but with a proper introduction and appropriate fitting your dog will quickly get used to this head collar (or atleast both of mine did). Also I used treats to get them to put there noses through the snout loop more willingly. At first they hated it as expected but in less than a day became okay with the head collar.

    Game Changer!

By SpringerMom on Feb 6, 2021

This harness is amazing! My English Springer Spaniel puppy (6 mos old) made me never want to go for a walk again with his pulling. One walk with this head harness and I can say it was a pleasure! No pulling at all. If he pulls, it directs his head down or back towards me. After weeks of trying to get him to walk nicely, this achieved it in just one walk!

By Nothappy on Mar 17, 2021

My dog who is midsize was able to get out of it in less then a minute. Yes I did put it on right I tried it 3 times. I do not recommend this product for mid to large size dogs.
