is the foam a memory foam or orthopedic type quality???

The crate mat is polyurethane foam. This foam is a structured piece of foam designed to fit the cover and to fill out all the corners. This foam is not memory foam but is supportive like orthopedic foam.
Is the zipper of the cover on the long side of the mat?

Is there a replacement cover that can be purchased?

There is no replacement cover for this item at this time.
Will water seep through the cover and soak the stuffing/mattress inside? (for example, spilled water bowl or urine accident) And can the inner mattress be washed and dried?

I wouldn't label this "DURABLE"

I opted to buy this one prior to buying the very expensive K9 ballistics one that guarantees that it is indestructible just to see if I could get out a little cheaper. My Great Dane destroyed this in a one hour session in his crate. The zippers are the weakest component unfortunately.

Not chew proof

Bella kept pulling it out of her dog house and playing with it. This morning, it looked like snow all over the yard. She chewed it to pieces.

Works Great

The 41" mat works perfectly in my 42" crate. I love the thickness, cool material (water-resistant and easy to clean), and the firmness of the foam. This is so much better than my puppy lying on the crate pan with no cushioning. I wish the teal color was in stock when I purchased mine but the black one works great too.

Stays put and keeps pup comfy

This was a great purchase! We were using blankets to line the bottom of our dog’s crate, but they’d always wind up bunched up so that he was mostly lying on the hard plastic. He also started ripping apart one of the blankets. This fits snugly into the bottom of the crate so it stays put, provides uniform padding, and doesn’t have any folded over ends to tempt puppy chewing!

Just what we needed

Fit our crate perfectly. It’s comfortable enough for our GSD, but stays flat so he can’t tear at it. The fabric is sturdy and can put up with his attempts to dig/move it.

Driscoll Crate Mat

Frisco makes great products and this is no exception! Fits the crate perfectly, it was reasonably priced and provides perfect comfort for our 60+ pound Doodle! Would definitely recommend.

so far indestructible!

My Aussie is an aggressive chewer and his last bed made it less than 2 weeks before he had it torn up. This bed has made it more than 2 weeks. He tried to chew it up but because of the way it's made, couldn't get the corner up enough to get a grip on it, he's even given up on trying to chew it. Bed is great quality and comfortable for him. Highly recommend this crate mat to anyone!

The smell is HORRIFIC

We bought 2 of these mats for our dog's crates, since it's hard to find ones this size, and they fit perfectly BUT both beds smelled like burning plastic and chemicals. We left them outside, then in our guest room to air out for a day and upon reentry, the entire room stunk like chemicals! I ended up washing both the internal and external covers twice to try and get rid of the smell, with no luck. A dog's nose is so much stronger than ours, I can't imagine subjecting them to that smell. Not sure what to do with them now, since they've been washed and the tags are gone, but they're for sure not going in my pets' crates.

Great Mat

This mat has delivered on it's durability. We have a Cane Corso Mastiff mix that loves it after ripping apart the last mat we had.
