I have the 48" version of this crate - two of them actually - for my tactical work and show GSD's. They have more than enough room to move around in these and the pack up/set up time is extremely minimal once you take a moment to see where the panels need to un hook from one another, that being said, the metal is of fair gauge and it could be difficult to pull/push. The tray doesn't make noise or rattle (I keep their crates on thick pile rugs so they're not as unforgiving on the dog's hips - even with a pad) and it slides out easily - maybe a little TOO easily at times as the small latch to secure it tends to get loose fitting over time, but it's nothing a quick squeeze can't correct. The latches are extremely easy to open and close but occasionally (operator error) it feels/appears latched but isn't, so there was an escape at one time. Since then latches are jiggled when locking and no more Houndini stunts. The durability and gauge of the metal itself is also on par with what I would expect from a much more expensive crate - my working dog is a ruthlessly aggressive chewer and has chewed her way out of previous (more expensive) crates in a matter of hours, but I also got her an 48" this go round instead of 42" so it could just be the extra bit of space that helped. Overall the particular size crate I purchased is an absolute steal for the price and quality and I have recommended these and will continue to recommend these to anyone who might be looking. … more

We've since Overall, the crate is well built. We purchased this for our golden retriever puppy to sleep in. So, it's in our bedroom. And the plastic liner that forms the base of the crate makes noise (banging against the metal bottom) every time our puppy moves/rolls over. It kept waking us up!! We've since switched to a plastic style crate which is working out much better. If you're buying this for a living room, you'll probably be fine, but I could see it being enough noise that it even interferes with normal TV watching. Also, if you plan to be moving this crate around your house, measure your doors and compare with the width of the crate! The size we got is a few inches wider than the doors in our house. This means every time we want to move it, it needs to be folded down - which is not hard, but takes about 10 minutes and is a bit rough on the hands...not something you want to be doing everyday. (We figured this out the hard way - got home with our new puppy at like 1 AM after 16 hours of driving, assembled the crate in the living room...and went to carry it into the bedroom and couldn't make it through the door...had to break it down and reassemble it in the bedroom before getting to go to sleep...fun times!) … more
