Complete with a comfortable mat, it’s a lounge zone for your pup while they stay safely confined. When it’s time to lock up, the enhanced locking technology allows you to perform one locking step that locks in three locations. That means less effort and more security for peace of mind! The thick wire designed with protective, black electro-coat finish means it’s made to last. The two doors make it easy for dogs to get in and out, and for you to place it in any spot in the house. An included divider panel allows you to create a smaller space for growing pups, and the base pan makes cleanup easy. Assembly is simple—no tools required! FAQ

What is the benefit of an enhanced lock?

The enhanced lock is a combination of a push button lock that secures the wire lock handle. The wire lock connects above and below the door by use of a wire handle. Pushing the wire handle into the push button lock secures the handle so it cannot be opened without pushing the button.

What is the difference between the standard Frisco Crate and the Frisco Heavy Duty Crate?

The Frisco Heavy Duty crate has a thicker wire gauge.

How to select the best size crate

  1. While dog is standing, measure dog from nose to base of tail.
  2. While dog is sitting, measure dog from top of the head to the floor.
  3. Add 4 inches to determine maximum measurements. Remember, dog should be able to stand up and turn around while in the crate.
  • Tip: Before selecting a crate size, please measure the area where the crate will be kept.

Does the crate require assembly?

Yes, the crate requires assembly, but requires no tools.

    Well made, heavy duty crate

By cynb on Apr 15, 2021

Sadly, I did not need a heavy duty crate. I don't know what is going on with all the crates & raised feeders lately. Most have been out of stock for months, it seems, so I was forced to buy a Lexus for twice the price that I did not need. It is well made, and easy to 'assemble'. I do like the sturdy lock & latch mechanism. I think it would be impossible for most dogs to open unless they are Hercules. I would take off 1/2 star if I could for the mat. It's pretty thin for an $80 crate. I guess the idea is that you can collapse and carry the crate with the mat still in it, so there is that, but I added a 2nd mat because my new rescue likes a cushier bed. Love the Features but quality lacks

By Kenna on Apr 7, 2021

The inside of the mat is just Styrofoam padding, and after folding up the crate and moving it a few times, the latches that hold it together seem a tad flimsy. I bought the crate because of its awesome doors, I love that I only have to latch it in one place, but it secures in three. Unfortunately it came to me with one section not soldered properly and therefore it relies on the clips to hold the door in place. I'm looking to see if they will replace the product for a new one, until then it gets 3 stars. Needs quality improvement.

    crates for Collies

By instantsuccess on Apr 5, 2021

bought this crate for my 6 Collies. Thr Large sized crate fits these 50 to 75 lbs dogs with some room to stretch, turn, lay on their backs, and have a Snappy fit bowl in the corner. Well designed and easy to unfold to set up. Has a side and end door with secure easy-to-use latches. Reasonably priced.

Great crate if you don’t have a chewer

By Chelle on Mar 29, 2021

This crate is a really nice heavy duty crate. The only crate out 7 month old labradoodle hasn’t been able to escape. However, she did chew up the mat and the plastic pan in the bottom of the crate within 75 minutes. This is the reason I gave it three stars is how easy it was for her to chew the mat and pan so quickly.

    Great value

By Toby on Mar 30, 2021

I bought this dog crate to replace an older crate that suffered terminal crate damage by being run over by a car (dog not in crate at time of incident). This crate is well made but of a lighter weight and has a door that opens to the side rather than lift to the top. Money well spent. No complaints.

    Handsome and Adequate

By Ryan on Mar 6, 2021

Crate has worked fine for us, no huge complaints. We needed a crate when the regular style of same size was out of stock. If both the regular style and this enhanced lock style were available, I would get the regular style over this, mostly because it is lighter. But I don’t regret this purchase, it just has different pros and cons compared to the regular style. Pros: -the teal accents on the crate and mat look nice! It’s very handsome -crate mat foam is thicker than many generic crate mats -I like the crate mat cover a lot and we will probably stuff it with new padding (old blankets or towels maybe) for a nice, handsome crate bed that can be easily washed! -one handed single point door closure Crate has worked fine for us, no huge complaints. I like that you can hear the lock click into place -I’ve heard some dogs can open standard crate latches - I don’t think they would be able to open this from inside! Cons: -just like the regular crate latch, if the lock is not closed all the way into correct position, the door does not latch and dog can get out. This is obvious! It’s noteworthy because we have closed the latch incorrectly more with this style lock than the regular. It’s really important that you hear the lock click into position on this style - if there is no click, it’s not fully latched. But it may appear latched to the eye. The lock style has worked fine for me, but my partner has failed to latch it correctly many times when handling the crate late at night or early in the morning when she is half asleep - and she never had trouble with the regular crate latch style. User error, not a product problem - just important to be mindful -only the crate mat COVER is washable. Foam insert is not machine washable. This was not clear on the product listing -the foam mat inside the crate mat cover is low quality. Came with a permanent impression of the crate when we opened. It’s firm but in a brittle foam way, not in a good support way. The cover is nice though and it’s thicker than the regular Sherpa crate mat -heavier than the regular crate of same size … more

    This crate is roomy

By Ally on Mar 30, 2021

Easy to put together. I purchased the large because I wanted her to have room to move around. She suffered a leg injury and she needed a crate per her doctor. After looking and chatting with customer service I selected this crate.

    High quality crate

By Bruno on Mar 11, 2021

Very durable crate with convenient locks that will certainly prohibit dogs from escaping. I actually tried to do this myself from the inside and had a very difficult time given the way that the bars sit around the lock itself. Very happy with this purchase.

My Shepherd absolutely loves his new crate!

By Shepherdmom on Mar 20, 2021

Perfect for my 100 lb Shepherd! He’s only 7 months old, but a very big boy! Very sturdy crate and he loves it. The pad that comes with it is a bit noisy when he moves around at night but your could always cover it.

    Sturdy Crate

By Tucker on Apr 9, 2021

This is a great crate. I love that it has a door on the longer side of the crate. The lock is stronger than most other crates.
