    Nice quality, well worth it!

I bought 2 of these, and so far I am impressed with everything I find. The latches have some nice integrated security features for those deep thinkers, but still operates smoothly without frustrating snags. Both crates shown are 36’s, but the quality difference is obvious. The Frisco Heavy Duty crate I bought 2 of these, and so far I am impressed with everything I find. The latches have some nice integrated security features for those deep thinkers, but still operates smoothly without frustrating snags. Both crates shown are 36’s, but the quality difference is obvious. The Frisco Heavy Duty crate is taller and a couple inches wider than an average (in my experience, take it with a grain of salt) 36”, which really makes a difference for my pointy eared pups. (The smaller crate is actually a nice quality crate, just not “heavy duty,” and the difference is obvious.) On both crates, I did have to bend the crate pan latch part to straighten it in order to get it to seat correctly. If you have a handy screwdriver or similar strength straight tool nearby, it’s easily remedied though. Save the toes! The wire gauge is nice and sturdy feeling, but the crate is still pretty manageable/average weight wise (I’m a smaller build lady myself, so unwieldy crates are a problem) and overall, I’m super impressed. Will 100% get another if I need a crate. … more

    Ok for older, trained dogs

The locking mechanism on this kennel has proven difficult. You have to get the angles just right in order to prevent the cage from opening or when trying to open the cage. The wires/bars are either poorly made or damaged in shipping. I’d guess poorly made as the outside shipping box was not damaged. The locking mechanism on this kennel has proven difficult. You have to get the angles just right in order to prevent the cage from opening or when trying to open the cage. The wires/bars are either poorly made or damaged in shipping. I’d guess poorly made as the outside shipping box was not damaged. Any previous wire kennel is simple to knock down or set up. The front panel hooks of this kennel were wrapped around the back kennel preventing you from constructing the cage (not sure if manufactured this way or damaged in shipping). Requiring you to crawl into it while trying to hold the sides up and use pliers to pry apart the wires. The rollers did not prevent damage to our laminate floors before the dog even went into the kennel for the first time. A personal preference- the side entry door is not centered, making it difficult to clean up potty accidents on the right side. The front hook doesn’t hold the try in consistently allowing the dog to escape out of the bottom holes. This kennel is also heavier in weight than competitors without the advantage of being a strong wire structure. I have used a different brand for years, and will likely be returning to that brand (only tried this kennel for the fast shipping due to an urgent need). This kennel may work fine for a middle aged to senior pet that doesn’t test the boundaries, have potty accidents or run the risk of injury if they escape from the kennel. I wouldn’t recommend for a young adult to puppy. … more
