How do I measure my pet for this item?
To measure your pets body length, measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail; measure the neck by carefully measuring the circumference of the pets neck leaving room for two fingers; to measure the chest, measure the widest part (around the pets belly).
Tip: get lots of treats and a human buddy to help keep your pet still while measuring and write down each measurement to easily compare to the size chart!
My pet is between sizes, which size should I order?
For the best fit, match the size dimensions to your pet's measurements as closely as possible. If your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two.

I ordered this because it came in bigger sizes for big dogs and because my golden/labradoodle mix is obsessed with her Outward Hound Jumbo Hedgie. Big Hedgie is her favorite toy and when she destroys them, I have to get her a replacement or she gets upset. Outward Hound will never go out of business at the rate I buy their hedgies. Juno is on number 20 in 4 years. I figured dressing her as a hedgie for Halloween would be appropriate considering her love of Big Hedgie. The body/cape part of the costume fits perfectly and is lined with a cooler material so she won't overheat under all the fuzz. However, the headpiece appears to be made for a human child's head and then just had 2 holes cut into the top for dog's ears. I only kept this costume because I bought it on sale for around $8 and Juno loves her hedgies. I would have returned it otherwise. I put my 24 years of sewing experience to good use and fixed the headpiece as best as I could. I had to shorten the length by about 3/4" with a new seam on top of the headpiece AND remove about 1 3/4" of material from the back of the neck and re-hem it. Then, I had to enlarge the ear holes by about 3 inches down the side of the headpiece on each side (because the holes it came with were directly atop the headpiece as if dogs had the ear configuration of rabbits) and roughly refinish them to prevent fraying. Lastly, I had to add darts beneath the hedgie's face features to make this nightmare hat fit around my girl's face without gapping and sticking out in a way that would be dangerous if she brushed against anything and got her hat stuck. She could choke herself trying to wiggle free if that happened. I considered returning it and sewing a hedgie from scratch, but there wasn't enough time and I wouldn't find the materials for less than the $8 I spent here. If you don't know how to alter garments with a sewing machine, don't buy this poorly designed monstrosity.
I Highly recommend this costume. Easy to pit on a dog that wiggles a lot.
